    When are the contents of goody huts determined exactly? Because it doesn't seem to be when you pick them up... is it when they first become visible?

    Its when the map is generated all huts are given "goodies", but if the turn is before barbarians are allowed to spawn (turn 19 default game) then nothing comes out of the hut. So no matter how many times you reload itll always be the same result, unless its before turn 19 then the barb "intended" huts will give nothing. Unless someone knows exactly how it works with the barb huts this is how it seems.

      I think it gives also Barbs before they should occur the first time otherwise you wouldn't have the Barbarian level only huts. But I got the suspicion if you are playing the Barbs you won't get anything from huts.

          I believe only the class of thing (whether it will be an advance, a unit, etc.) is determined in advance, not exactly what you get.
