  • Poll: Internal Trade only vs. International Trade

Internal Trade only should be rather clear, only send goods from our cities to other cities of ours.

"very carefull" external trade means, we will sent goods to nations who like us as well, if the trade route will assumingly pass no other or as well friendly territory to prevent any pirating as much as possible.

"carefull" external trade means we will send goods to nations who like us, regardless of what lies in between the sending and the receiving town.

"full" external trade means, who will pay the most, will get it, regardless of their attitude.

NOTE: as i'm often quite surprised by the way some trade routes use in my own games, i'm not very competent on the "aspected route" question, but i'm rather sure some people around here will know more about that.

In the beginning Internal only. We might want to change afterwards. But as we still haven't established our contacts, or better to say: the AI might gonna change some of those......

    For non-CTP2'ers (they exist ????):

Trade routes can be pirated by anyone. Only defence against is having the traderoute (which will be visible to everyone) under your full control, or having a non-piracy agreement with nations around (by the way, breaking them, is not seen as an automatical declaration of war)

actually trade routes can even be pillaged, if they run completely on our own territory. just needs some unfriendly military units inside our borders.

        pillaged? What will happen then?

Are you sure, I never tried, though.

I only knew about that the AI will (default unmodded) break a trade-route after 10(?) attempts.

well according to the gl the pillaging player will get the money the selling player should get. never checked if that really works as i never pirate myself and always give constantly pirating nations what they deserve.

@ last option... "Bugging" might be more appropriate than "Buggering"

Similar for me, I hardly ever use it.

              But thanks for the clarification............

Trade routes give us a lot of gold, so it would be a mistake not to create any. But the danger is high that they are pillaged but if I remember correctly the pillager won't get all the money so we can them keep alive even if they are pillaged. But of course we want to reduce this risk. So internal trade only.

By the way why is this poll not official?

You could ask Locutus or Ming to fix the problem (I asked Ming as I did that kind of mistake), by the way according to our constition the word official must be written in capital letters: OFFICIAL, otherwise the poll is unofficial, too.

I'd vote anything to avoid the buggering! I don't even watch the shopping channel - but now i never will
I'm xenaphobic except with very strong and trusted allies so either 'Internal trade' or 'very careful trade' please.
