  • Turn Thread #2: 1260 BC (Turn 137)

I want precise orders from all ministers on how to play this turn. Once I've received all orders (preferably today or tomorrow, but if some things require polling or there are RL issues I can understand it'll take longer), I'll execute the orders, end the turn and post the results here. In this fashion I hope to be able to play 1-2 turns between turn chats.

So I need very specific orders from every minister. Every single order needs to be given here specifically and with all necessary details listed, in the same fashion as during turn chats.

Please post your final orders in this thread and not elsewhere. Orders posted here are regarded final, orders posted in other threads are regarded non-final and open for discussion (it's recommended that orders are posted elsewhere first, so they can be discussed before they are regarded final).

Note that orders posted here should be for this turn only (though it would be appreciated if you started preparations for next turn as well).

    Domestic orders

#. City Name (Happiness) - Building (Turns to finish)
    -----------------------------------------------------
    1. Pedrunnia (75) - Archer (2 turns)
    2. Colonia Locuta (74) - Caravan (5 turns)
    3. H Town (75) - Archer (1 turn)
    4. mapfipolis (73) - Hoplite (1 turn)
    5. Pressburg (74) - Archer (2 turns)
    6. Graz (74) - Archer (1 turn)
    7. Wels (73) - Archer (3 turns)
    8. Linz (74) - Shrine (2 turns)
    9. Wombatoon (74) - Hoplite (2 turns)
    10. Maquiladad (74) - Archer (4 turns)
    11. Wien (71) - EMPTY (N/A)

Q1) Should we add/remove Entertainers or Farmers in any of these cities?
Q2) What should we build in Wien?
Q3) What other changes in our cities are needed this turn?

    Infrastructure orders

We currently have 722 PW and a PW tax rate of 0%. For this turn I (as President) will allow tax rates between 0% and 80%.

Q4) What kind of tile improvements should be created this turn (if any) and where? Please specify exact tiles (use screenshots or other aids if needed).
Q5) What should the tax rate for this turn be?

    Scientific orders

We are currently researching Geography, which will take 13 turns to finish. Other advances available are Shipbuilding (2 turns), Masonry (3 turns) and Iron Working (4 turns). We can switch to any of these advances without losses, both this turn and next.

The science rate is 60%. I (as President) will only allow a change in science rate if there is a significant benefit elsewhere.

Q6) What should we research this turn?

    Trade orders

We currently have 1 Caravan and 0 Trade Routes. At maximum profit, the only route we can build at the moment is Coffee from Linz to Maquiladad, at a profit of 50 Gold/turn. If we build more Caravans more profitable routes become available.

Q7) Should we build the route from Linz to Maquiladad this turn?
Q8) Should we build any more Caravans this turn? (Please coordinate with MoDA if so)

    Diplomacy orders

    Germany - Peace (Respect)
    Thailand - Peace/Withdraw (Respect)
    Celtic Emp - Peace/Withdraw (Respect)
    Israel - None (Dislike)
    India - Peace/Withdraw (Respect)

Q9) Should we make any diplomatic request/offer this turn?
Q10) How should we respond to any offers we may receive at the end of this turn?

    1. Bait (north of Magdeburg)

Q11) Where should each of the field units move? What other orders should they be given?
Q12) Should any of the city garrisons be moved? If so, where to?

    Miscellaneous orders

Q13 Are any changes in the sliders recommended this turn? (Optional question for all Ministers)
Q14 Is there anything else that needs to be done this turn? (Optional question for all Citizens)

I will play as soon as all questions have been adequately answered. So please answer these questions as soon as possible (but still within the limits of democracy of course). Thank you...

The Empire Manager says 1266 collected... Have we spent some since?

If we have 1266, we can afford to continue the road network from Graz to Weins, otherwise I would be more inclined to postpone it until further PW has been accumulated.

I'm starting a poll on the other issue and will form a conclusion tomorrow having looked at the lastest savegame.

Ideally another turn of 80% PW, but I don't think this would be suitable for playing just one turn. 20% would be more advantageous overall, IMO.
    Concrete, Abstract, or Squoingy?

      1266 is production, not PW.

Sorry for the delay Locutus, I did not spotted the thread.

              Here are my orders:

              Specialists:
              - Remove 1 Entertainer in Pedrunnia
              - Remove 1 Entertainer in H Town
              - Recommandation: add 1 Farmer in Linz
              - Add 1 Entertainer in Wien

              Wien Build Queue:
              - Place a Hoplite and a Mounted Archer in Wien

              All Build Queues:
              - Replace the Archers currently in the BQs by Mounted Archers

                Q6: stay tuned on geography.

i personally would like to get masonry first, since some of our cities might soon need aqueducts, but this can be decided by polls during the next two turns.

                Q7: yes

Q8: we are currently building one caravan which will be ready in 5 turns. as the only other really profitable internal traderoute requires 2 caravans, i hereby request the MoDA to build another caravan, which should be ready approx. at the same time.

                  Q9: no

Q10: well, would be a bit different to preconsider all possible offers. here are the guidelines:

austria: they can get a seize fire if they hand us the town of pilsen.

all other nations: if they want peace, they shall have. if they want our maps, we shall see theirs. if they want us to leave their lands, require them to do the same. if they want money, say no. if they want our towns, they shall try to get them and die at our citywalls (don't tell we don't have those )

note: in the extremely unlikely case, one nation has already declared war at us during the end of the turn, you may give another threatening to do the same a little money to calm them down. as you as president have to approve every offer of money, you shall decide, how much a little is.

Tamerlin: Linz already has 1 Farmer. Did you mean add another farmer (to bring the total to 2) or just keep the existing one?

Adding another farmer, though this is not an order but rather a recommandation. I think we should consider adding this farmer in Linz as it would greatly increase the Growth rate of the city.
But this is typically the kind of decisions I would have liked to submit to other players during a turn chat as more experienced ones could have different opinions. Actually, I would recommand adding a farmer but I would like you to weight the ins and outs of this proposal and decide what is best.

Sorry Pedrunn, but I would never organize a poll for a farmer, I consider polls must be used for important subjects or in order to define a general policy.
