Why on earth are there 2 nomination threads? Please tell me which one to close...

Anyway, to avoid legal debates, I hereby confirm my presidential nomination in the other thread.

Because the other thread was also for the nomination of the other position and the nomination period for these positions is over. So to avaid that any citizien nominates him/herself for a position for that the nomination period is over, the court decided to open a new thread exclusivly for the positions that are left. At least my conclusion, and the constition doesn't say anything about how to organize this particular aspect of the nomination process. So the other thread should be untopped, I don't see any need to close it.

No, the Con says nothing about this, Frozzy can do it however he wants. But I for one just find this new thread more confusing. I mean, potential nominees can read, can't they? It certainly didn't create any problems in the past. At the very least he should have posted an explanation and/or asked me to close one of the threads.... now noone knows where to post...

Afterwards I read H Tower's last post in the other nomination thread this was clear for me. Actual Frozzy stated that there is an upcomming thread for the nomination extension. Unfortunatly he did not speak of a new thread expressly, just of the nomination extension.

the first time this happened, (when I was senior judge) I created a second thread for it. Frozzy is just following precedent

Great to see a thread where NZ time (the most advanced on the planet - everyone else is living in the past) is the norm. BTW, I'm pretty sure 2200 NZ is 1000GMT now with daylight savings changing over.
                    Consul.

Back to the ROOTS of addiction. My first missed poll!

Yeah, and the NZ time thingie actually caused me to nominate too late so I hope next time we'll use GMT as standard time again, like any sane person would do

We still need a MoDST though - come on people! I can say from experience it's not too much work (the worst part - meeting all the civs - is already largely behind us), so don't pass on basis of that...

well, if really noone else is willing to, and you don't mind a minister who won't be there at almost all turnchats, i might nominate myself, in a thread which isn't expired of course, no need to give some people who like to take everything to the court another reason to get mad

Actually there is no need for a Minister of Diplomacy or Minister of Infrastucture to attend. Both Ministers can give clear orders and think about the situation before. For example it is every time the same how we should contact a civ for the first time, isn't it.

                          For instance:

In diplomatic negotiations use always the tone meek.

First contact: Give 100 gold if possible and accepted by the President.
Once the regard towards us was raised give ask for a map exchange, a mutual withdraw treaty and a peace treaty. If they are still unhappy give 100 gold again and do the stuff next turn. And don't wait another turn if the became happier with us. And so on ...

Science: What should we research after our current advance, what should we reasearch if our first coiche is not available.

Trade: Which Trade routes should we build.

If necessary do polls, of course as much as possible. And post the orders before the turn chat in the according thread.

If you do it like this you never need to attend to the turn chats. And actual there would be no need to apoint a delegate if it is done this way.

Uhm, Frozzy, the extention period was 3 days, it's been almost 5. Maybe you should post an election thread by now?
