  • OFFICIAL: Disband units to build wonder?

I am concerned that we will be beaten by the AI to a wonder of our choosing (at the moment Ramajana, although I like Chichen Itza too.)

We have only just started a wonder, in Pressburg, which will take less than (although not much less than) 28 turns.

Two AI's already have Wonder projects underway (as far as I recall.)

We could well find ourselves being shut out of the wonder of our choice, by lack of resources.

I would, to solve this, like to give ourselves an option to guarantee winning the race. We don't have enough cash to rush buy with a large number of turns left, but we do have a number of spare units, without definitive plans beyond taking Wels.

I would like to return these to Pedrunnia, to optionally be able to disband them, to win a close wonder race.

If its apparent that we don't need to disband them, or we need them for a critical defensive situation, then I will happily release them.

Should we build the wonder without needing them, then they can obviously be released to collaborate in an offensive action against Austria.

I will also, naturally, pledge to, as MoDA rebuild the units with the utmost urgency.

These units, sitting waiting to have a larger force built around them, doing nothing, are significantly less valuable to us than theoretically building an important wonder, such as the Ramajana or Chichen Itza.

I urge the citizenry to authorize this course of action for the stack of troops that will attack Wels (after they attack, not instead.)

      I voted Yes.

If needed I would even allow to disband new units (so long not needed) to rush the wonder('s). We need to beat the AI towards the wonders..........

I am afrraid you cannot ask for the authorisation for disbanding units. Accordingly to our constitution, only the Minister of Defence can decide on disbanding units.

        V. The Minister of Defense
        (a) The Minister of Defense is responsible for all units and their orders including the disband order, except settlers and all other unconventional units.
(b)Any action which would result in a declaration of war has to be evaluated by the citizens through an Official Poll (Article IV, Subsection 3-II).
        (c) The Minister of Defense may name any army to ease discussions.
So you have to ask the Minister of Defence if we should disband the stack in Pedrunnia, and you have also ask him if he is so kind to move the stack to Pedrunnia. Or you have to do an RESOLUTION poll to move the stack to Pedrunnia in order to have the disband option that should be used in the case of the cases.

I say yes but as the MoD I need much more thinking and a disbanding plan.

Make a request. How many units is needed? I will think about what I can do...

IIRC Tamerlin though of 8 units from the Lemuforce. Actual I think we can tale some more units from the surrounding cities. However we still need some turns before the unit disbanding will of any use for us.

But first I need to know how many turns will be rushed with the disbanding of the units!

That a very important information for our plans

One unit give one turn of production.

I believe each unit contributes 50% of its production cost. It was discovered recently that in CTP the bonuses from production improvements added to this total, but that shouldn't matter here, since we have none.
