Though it got a little bit lost in the struggle to attack Innsbruck and Graz, and create defensive forces, we got Stoneworking from ruins.
This... among other things, allows us to build City Walls.
I don't have a defined opinion on the matter, yet... and am just looking for peoples thoughts on the matter.
As per the mod's building.txt, city walls provide us with:
'Improving' the defenders is one thing, but the slavery prevention is yet another, to my mind, more important function, for us.
Having said this, city walls cost 450 shields... the same as 3 archers or more than 2 hoplites.
Building city walls will reduce the number of troops we build in that city, but improve their qualitive defense. We can leave proportionally smaller garrisons to defend them, also... leaving more free attackers for further conquest.
We also can, as we have been, shuffle defenders; building city walls doesn't necessarily mean we can't add defenders to that location as well... just that they need to come from elsewhere.
This is a pretty simplistic 'pro and con' argument of building city walls. I just wanted peoples thoughts on this... to get an idea.
