  • OFFICIAL: Name of our second city!

I think a good idea to name our cities after famous Lemurians. And this city i want to congratulate Locutus because of all the effort he did to CTP2 and to all of our DG community. Since he is our moderator and Minister of Diplomacy, the one who write the news, he has showed up ina all the chat until now, have played a major whole in the creation of the constitution, specially the Court article, he is in the hall of fame, ......

So all of us agree in naming the city after him.

Variations of the names are accepted specially if suggested but Locutus. Somethings like "Locutusia", "LocutusLand", "Locutopolis", etc...

I like "Locutopolis", it has a 1950's pulp flavour I think is fun.

I am not sure if Locutus will like it but I voted

The only think, if he votes , shall we still go with it????

                I would say, YES

Maybe we should leave it, for him to decide, which version of Locutus to use.........

Well, this is a democracy game - and the majority rules.

I voted yes. But please, let’s not have three more spin-off polls on variants etc. Just let Locutus pick a name and go with it. Please. Pretty please. With a cherry on top.

I really think we should leave it to Locutus.

But Pedrunn could (kind of) 'decide' on his own (to leave it to Locutus, in case 'he' wins )

nothing against Locutus or you Pedrunn but I find the idea to name our cities after people pretty lame.
I voted no last time, no again.

First of all, I think giving cities the exact same names as posters is very confusing, especially during turn chats (I almost mixed up Pedrunn the city and Pedrunn the poster a few times during the last chat). So if anything, I think a variant on Locutus should be used, not Locutus itself. And I strongly urge Pedrunn to rename our capital to Pedrunnlandia (a name he made up himself a long time ago, if anyone still remembers that ) or something similar as well.

But like mapfi, I would prefer original names like Xanadu, El Dorado or Lemur City (well, not exactly original, but you get the point ).

Your Latin is absolutely terrible. That should read Locuti, Locutorum, Locutis, Locutos, Locutis, Locuti (Locutus is a noun ). If you must make it a verb, it would be Locuti sumus, Locuti estis, Locuti sunt.

In any case, if you must go with poster names, my personal preference would go to a classical Roman name, something like Colonia Locuta Tubantia (which could be shortened to Locuta Tubantia or just Locuta)...

Plans for that have been made indeed! I also think this kind of change is necessary. To tell you the truth i have been thinking in Pedrunnpolis or Pedrunnia or Pedrunnlandia (you remembered
It was when i have made those brazialian cities names list )

Colonia Locuta Tubantia (...) or just Locuta)...
                          I liked Locutusia

The name you chose is too big indeed. I like Locuta for sure!

you left it then to Locutus, who has choosen his 'sister' (at least if I remember right my old Latin)

For those who didt undestand, in iberic languages "a" at the and almost always means female names
