  • MoD Resignation

Im not gonna have alot of posting/lurking time soon, so i wont be able keep up my responsibilites as MoD. As important position as MoD is, at any stage of the game, i think someone with more time and commitment should be in my position as soon as possible, to keep the game flowing, hopefully someone who can turn up in all/most turn chats.

Im abit disillusioned with the whole Democracy Game process too, I shouldve read other DG forums before i started in this one, i think. To me its quite frustrating to see things moving so slowly, and the game being analysed to such a degree, its not fun anymore.

Can i offer the position to Turambar? As he was my delegate, so it wont be such a change. I dont know what it says about it in the constitution, but if its allowed, then he can take my position now if he wants, to keep things moving.

Sorry to see you leave Maq. I hope'll stick around and continue to participate in the game which I'm sure will speed up as we get more experianced at it. Thanks for all your work so far!

If the constitution allows I'd be happy to take up the position for the rest of the term if not then as a temporary replacement until an election is held (which I'll run in).

        Re: MoD Resignation

The game is going to get faster indeed. I was just too green!

It is sad to see such a loss.

Turambar, you are the temporary MoD since the Maqs term will take more than two weeks. New election should be held to make sure if the peoples does want you as their MoD.

        But you have my vote

              Maq, come back!

The DG is very slow at the moment (a bit like RL democracies ). I think once the growing pains have been ironed out we’ll be moving at warp 9. Don’t give up hope just yet.

Ill still come when i can, but my visits are gonna become more irregular soon, so probably a good idea to step down now. I dont want to get impeached and holds things up.

Your absence was unexpected, so thats alright. Maybe delegates will negate the need for impeachment on most occasions now anyway, unless the absence is over a month or something.

That was exactly my idea, like you know:
The turnchat will be on a Friday and you know you'll be on birthday-party. Something like that...... So you ask your delegate to fill in for you and the game can continue......

I'll still hope you'll stay with us for discussions/polls etc.

BUT......... You know that you'll not receive any pension, as you resigned on your own !!!!!!!

I think I'll nominate myself, and go for a record 3 election losses in one term.

Sorry to see you go, Maq

I too had hoped that this DG would go faster. But I don't think that's something we share with other DGs so it couldn't be foreseen. We're just slow

The court has appointed Turmabar as temporary Minister of Defence - and since IW is already considering running for it - the nomination thread will be up shortly
