  • When will the end of the term be

Edited by Locutus: this thread was originally part of this thread but on request of Pedrunn it was split (see below).

    One question!
Am i counting correctly or the next election will end at friday 24/01/2003 therefor the election process thursday 16/01/2003.

    In almost one week, right?

the election procedure begins 8 days before the end of the term, as per the constitution. Each term is to last 4 weeks. So technically I should be posting the nomination thread on the 13th with elections to end on the 21st.

The way you suggested is certainly easier, sadly however, it is not what is specified in the constitution.

I did not get the difference on what i said and what is written in the constitution

I thought the term statred in the 26/12/2003 when the minister team was formed (wise ass joint).

Would any one support an amendment to lengthen terms? Maybe to six weeks or so? If it is suggested, it should not go into effect untill two terms after it is agreed upon but I always thought it should be 4 weeks or 25 turns what ever comes second.

wiseass was special because no one was nominated for that position and I made up a special election for a domestic affairs minister to join the existing cabinet.

The term really began when the president's,, infrastructure and science Trade, Diplomacy were elected on the 24th.

I agree with H Tower, Wiseass was late, the 24th is the official date to use.

after further review of the constitution, mapfi will be the one posting the elections, nominations, the one with his ass on the line, etc, etc.

4 weeks is good. We're just starting, and next term the turn rate will speed up dramatically, especially with turn chats.

                So, no.

I agree, the start was bound to be rough. We should see how things go in the 2nd term and see if a change of term length is needed after that...

it would be easier if it was done by month, that way everyone would know when elections begin and when a new term begins without having to look it up

4 weeks and 1 month is pretty much the same thing. It should indeed be 1 month.

4 weeks plus 3 days for a poll = 31 days ( a month for 5/6 months of the year)

The idea behind the 28 days was a thought I had that we could always start the election process in the same week day of the month.

Example: We should always start an election process on a sunday. Because i think it is best day since the number of people on weekends dramatically decreases although there are people who can only come here in weekends. So we could express our candidacy in the sunday, monday and tuesday. At wednesday the election poll should start going until Sunday when the new government is decided for the term to come.

Dont you thin it is a good system. This way everybody would know the first three day of the week were for express the candidacy the other day + sunday would be to vote. In the monday the new government was already announced.

If the we give a deep thought the 31 days term could make the candidacy poll start at friday what could be disatrous to the DG since most people wont be around.

Dont you all guys think the same???
