  • Are there too many topped threads?

The high number of topped thread can scary newbies away. And there are 8 topped threads. so should we drop some?

    We could
    - Drop the "Important new threads"
    - Merge the "Lemuria Saved Games" with the "Announcing our first Government!"
    - Drop "Case History of the Court of Lemuria" adding a link in the "The Court of Lemuria: File Cases Here" (or the other way aroud).

    What you guys think?

Nah, Sticky Threads are good. Get a DG Directory (i.e. linking to all nessecary threads, and top that)

8 topped threads in a DG forum are to many you could take a look into the SMAC DG forum.

You could add to every save game post in the Lemuria Saved Games thread the current government so we can drop the Announcing our first Government! thread.

yes, drop the announcing the new government thread, i never meant for it to be topped, and perhaps the FAQ and constitution could be merged?

                  This better?
(I will make further changes once we've discussed the matter further)

Anyway, Democracy Games by their very nature tend to require a lot of topped threads, so it'll be hard to manage things properly.
A generic government info thread (at least a list of all current judges and ministers) needs to be readily accessible IMHO, that's why I topped the 'announcing our government' thread. A Directory would be quite useful, so if someone creates that one we could probably drop the History thread and link to it from the Directory. Generic government info could be merged with the Directory (first post: generic gov info, second post index).
I think the Constitution should be kept in a seperate thread, as should savegames. I agree with Pedrunn that one of the Court threads could be dropped (I would say the file cases thread myself). The FAQ (which I need to update and expand, BTW) should first and foremost be easy to find, so keeping it in a seperate topped thread would make the most sense (maybe generic government info could go here?).
I don't think less than 5 topped threads is feasible, but I agree that more than 6 shouldn't have to be necessary...

I have just seen the SMAC DG forum and it scared the hell out of me. Of course they are in election time what makes things worse there because the amout of ministers.

You could add to every save game post in the Lemuria Saved Games thread the current government so we can drop the Announcing our first Government! thread.
The next chapter will be about how were the minister chosen. So this makes the announcing thread obsolete.
But will all Presidents be willing to write about the history of Lemuria? I dont think so
And isnt it make hard to find the current government (Where? among the bottom you have to search ).

I added a appendix in the Constitution with the updated FAQ.
But i dont know if thats is a good idea I may make the FAQ hard to find. Or not (if we change the thread title)?
I could make a new appendix in the constitution thread with the current ministers. Also dont know if thats is a good idea.
BTW: What did you guys think of the constitution thread any sugestion to improve it

EDIT: This post is hurting my eyes!!! I did not noticed there were so many smiles (Oops! another one I better shut up now...

I have two doubts to improve the topped threads:

                      1) I am waiting some feedback on wha to do with the FAQ should we keep in a single thread or drop it and use the constitution thread. Changing the title to "The Contitution and the FAQ".

                      2) Should we drop the "Case History of the Court of Lemuria" and add a link to it in the "The Court of Lemuria: File Cases Here" thread? I think this is for the best
