  • Who should name the armies? (final)

Several people voted in the poll to decide the ministers the governement our DG will have.

But we havent decide who will name the armies since the poll for it ran into a tie. So my question is if we shouldnt give this task for the presindent since he is the one directed involved to the game or the minister of defense (keep in mid this is a task that may shall be happening dozens of times every turn and is going to be obligatory so that we (citizens) dont become lost in the discussions).

I’m still of the opinion that naming armies is complete and utter overkill . However, in the interest of finalising this poll, I think it is the prerogative of the President to name the armed forces.

The President should be the supreme commander of the armed forces, and therefore be able to name the armies.

But seriously, is it really necessary???

              Centrifuge,

1.) Making the Pres. the Supreme Commander would give him too much power.
2.) It is hell of a job (later in the game)
3.) damned Amis ( ), Only because it is like this in the US, doesn't mean it has to be like this in our Utopia
4.) It would also mean, that there would be only one person to blame, don't like it. It's better to at two or three

Hit the wrong button, finished before being finished.

The idea of the naming is to clearly identify for discussion...... the units/armies involved.

Sometimes it is easier to refer to the Attack Force 2, instead of the Army #13296. That's the whole point behind it.

yeah b/c there many people talking about it, its even more important to name armies

even in my own games i name the armies
but id like to see a better army system the CtP2, every time i add/ take out a unit, the army name is deleted, really annoying

In my opinion it doesn't matter if an army is named or not. I don't name my armies either. Therefore I think it is no problem to leave this task to the President as he actually plays the game.

Well, in all truth. In the American system there are others to blame, the Joint Chiefs of Staff. They're the highest ranking officials in each of the different american armed forces. The President has the final word, but the joint chiefs in reality make most of the decisions and the pentagon names the different operations/wars/armies.

...and yes, we definitely don't want "Lemuria" to be modeled after the USA. So I guess that what I'm saying is that I agree with my beret wearing friend , and would like to change my vote to the Minister of defense .
