  • WAW - Scenario?

Does anyone have a fix for WAW scenario in the Apolyton directory?

I installed it, and I got pop ups, after it loaded, saying it was unable to load STORMTROOPER, RED_ARMY_CORPS, FASCIST and other units.

Did you install the WAW mod first before the scenario? By the scenario, I take it you mean the WAW world map.

Failing that, go to my website (listed below), go to the WAW page and download the sprites.zip file. That file contains the files you mentioned.

Unfortunately, none of the above works.

I did install the mod beforehand, and had no problems playing the mod itself, only the scenario.

"SPRITE_STORMTROOPER not found in Sprite database"

"SPRITE_INFANTRY_REGT not found in Sprite database"

"SPRITE_RED_ARMY_CORP not found in Sprite database"

These are the problem messages that keep coming up, once I try to load the scenario.

If you can help, Dale, I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

BTW, any news from the WAW front? An update, maybe? Maybe a push for the timeline, up to 1991?

        Propaganda:

It looks like the additional sprites that EmporerMatthew used for those units are not in the zip file. The attached file is a fix for that (reverts the units to their original sprites). Save this file in the folder:

        \Call to Power 2\scenarios\World Map - WAW\scen0000\default\gamedata\

This should rectify the problem. I've changed nothing else in the scenario, just what sprite the units use.

Let me know how you go.

BTW, no plans for extending the scenario.

Just a little note: The newsprite.txt is not part of the default gamefile.txt therefore ModSwapper replaces the original (or the one from the previous mod) newsprite.txt by the WAW_newsprite.txt by renaming it to newsprite.txt. That won't do ModSwapper with the version in the scenario folder therefore if you put the file into the scenario folder the prefix WAW_ must be removed in order to make CTP2 to use this file.

Hey Dale, any way to incorporate Diplomod 3.6 - Final into WAW? Thanks for the help.
