    American civilian war
Columbus has found America (you can choose to be Spainyard's or Aztec
    World War 1 scenario
    Korean war
    The first Crusade
    The Age of Mongols( 1225-1350)
British Empire versus Boers in South africa 1854-1914

Why just the first crusade? Why not a scenario that covers all the major crusades?

      Well i don't care

i just wrote it down in a hurry

But it is proberbly best to do one that covers them all

Sounds good to me. It would work out really well as a scenario as there are plenty of special units and plenty of events. I thought of doing something similiar (in addition to the 80 years war & Julius Caesar scenarios I keep meaning to make a start on) so if you ever want to share ideas then give me a shout.

A scenario based on or around the Roman Empire. Spanning the beginning to the end.

edit - i only just saw the Julius Caesar reference doh anyway id love to play a scenario based around that time.

The thing I've found with Rome is that it was so dominant for much of the span as Empire. Scenarios tend to work better if there are two or three other civs which are as strong or stronger than you. I felt that an interesting period for a scenario was Julius Caesar, or Constantine...basically when the Empire was divided. The next thing a scenario needs is events. They make the whole game more interesting and certainly Caesar's time period has plenty of scope for SLIC events, special units, different units etc.....hmmm maybe I should get started on this

Roman units are not a problem at all there are plenty of classical age units in the Alexander Scenario

Agreed. The Alexander scenario also has some useful SLIC regarding cities which revolt (as Gaul did repeatedly under Caesar), having an heir (which Octavian effectively became) and certain other things. If I get time today I'll outline my ideas for a Caesar scenario....feedback would be great.

what about adding Cleopatra to the scn. she can have an alliance with ceasar and then with Mark Antony. When she gets with Antony, Octavian can declare war on both of them. i was also wondering if like a trigger would come out describing when Ceasar dies and then that they hunt down Cassius and Brutus or if that would be too much.

if this scenario doesn't work out or after you're done, maybe there can be a scn about Scotland with William Wallace and the King of England. Wallace can be like the Alx unit fighting in the front rows and the King of England can be like Darius fighting in the back as a ranged unit. I hope you have great sucess on your Ceasar scenario which I think will be great because the Roman times were great.

Thanks iverson. Being English I'm not sure about the Wallace scenario....I might make Edward much to strong!

Its a good idea though....I also wondered about Alfred the Great creating an Anglo-Saxon England against the Danes? Or (one I'm seriously thinking about) the 100 years war...what if Henry V had not died?

I've posted ideas for the Caesar scenario, check them out...you might also be interested in the roman scenarios Hermann refers to. You can find them on the apolyton site.

What I wanted to do with Cleopatra was give you the choice of having her as your mistress or not...if you do then Ptolemy and the Egyptians hate you and fight you. I'll have a think about the Antony situation (it is accurate). With Cassius and Brutus...if you mean a message then thats easy to do...if you means have them as special units that you need to hunt down it can still be done but is more fiddly

                      tigger,
Those all sound like nice ideas but don't start working on more scenarios than you can handle

                        Fair point Locutus

I am committed to two scenarios (80 years war and Caesar). I'll see how long they take and whats happening in Real Life (does anyone else remember that?) at that point.

                          Thirty year war

What about a scenario about the thirty year war (1618-1648)?
                          Has it been done.

Oh well, maybe I'm biased (Swedish) but I think it is quite an interesting
period as new tactics were developed (the use of concentrated cannon fire, handheld firearms, dragoons, star fortifications etc).

Pitching the Protestants against the Catholics in Central Europe may see
the fall of Vienna or the Catholics reclaiming both Nothern Europe and
Britain. Two even sides battle it out (multiplayer perhaps?) with France as a secret supporter of the Protestant cause (without their economic aid, and some scottish mercenaries, we would never have been able to battle the Austrians armies).
So much to do in so little time...

I don't think its been done and its a great idea. The 80 years scenario would incorporate some of it if I ever get a map sorted out grrr

But look what Sweden achieved with the help they received! They were one factor in the decline of the Habsburgs.
