I just downloaded the apol-pack and have just started
a new game to try it out... a few things I have noticed
so far and a few questions:

Why is a beach with a river changed to be the same
as a regular beach? I thought it made sense in the
original rules that a delta would be a more valuable
piece of land... I think I got it changed back ok.

I commented out the extra zero-ignored wonder at the
top of that file so it doesn't show up in the build
list... does that have to be there for some reason?

I also noticed that I can't build any more hoplites!
I have 10 hoplites and I can't choose them anymore
even though I have the advance... I have 5 cities...
so does that mean one can only build two hoplites
per city? What does one have to do to change that
back? Quick I am being swarmed by barbarians and I
can't build city walls yet... :O

Is there any files I can download which explains in
detail what has been changed and what one can do to
change them back if one doesn't like a particular
modification? A description of the reasoning behind
some of the less obvious changes would be nice as well.

Oh and another thing... isn't possible to have the
female leader option and have a picture for her?

    Thanks

You sure got a point on the beach tile. The river should give something like all the other tile.
My sugestion is: go to APOL_terrain.txt when you find the TERRAIN_WATER_BEACH, then under this there is a line EnvRiver, and change the numbers 0 to 5 in Food and Gold.

The zero-ignored wonder fix a small bug, concerning the first wonder in the wonder.txt. If an AI start to build the first wonder from this file you won't get a warning that the AI started to build thgis wonder. So this wonder was added in front of the other wonders. Open the APOLl_wonder.txt in your ..\ctp2_data\default\gamedata\ folder and add to the first wonder the line GLHidden and than it shouldn't appear in the GL any more.

That is possible to reimplement, but in CTP it is only possible to have one picture for every civ.

Thanks. That is what I did. But the main thing that concerns me
now with that pack is why the hoplite disappeared from the build
choices in the apolyton mod pack. I am wondering if it was set
to expire a lot earlier than in the original rules. It is supposed to
be obsolete at gunpowder right? In the game I started it became
unavailable long before that... before I could build any other units
with much of any defense... after I couldn't build any more hoplites
all that was left was the archer and the warrior... so you can see it
expired ( or disappeared or whatever happened) pretty earlier in
the game. Anyone have any clues on that one?

        Thanks

Thanks. I will try that. Does the 'GLHidden' line have to come in a
certain spot or just anywhere in the zero-ignored wonder definition?

I noticed in that game I started with the apolyton pack that a couple of
other empires have built The Agency and Data Haven as their first
wonders... right at the start of the game... ack!!
Does that zero-ignored wonder fix that or is that some other unrelated
          bug?

I would put under the last entry of the zero-ignored wonder.

For your second problem I have no real idea. The only reason that I can consider why you can get such a bug is that you started a new game without the ApolytonPack and then continued it with the ApolytonPack, but you allready said you started the game with the pack. Unfortunatly I haven't access on the APOL_ files yet. Therefore I can't search in them for bugs.

When I was going through fixing the ZERO_WONDER bug, I noticed all these things you mentioned.

              - AI building wonders when not available
              - Not able to build things when I knew I could
              - A few other thing

These are all fixed. I'll be uploading update_1.01 to the world today, so keep an eye on the Apolyton Pack thread at the top. Also puts back the proper beach terrain settings.

I tired that GLHidden directive and started a new game. I seem
to have no problems with not being able to build hoplites or
any other units... I think that was indeed because I commented
out that first wonder definition in the ApolPack and then didn't
                start a new game.

But a 'zero-ignored wonder' still appears along with Aristotles
Lyceum in the list of wonders one can build. I don't know if
that is a problem... I haven't noticed any other empires
trying to build it and I know I won't bother with it...

                thanks

Thanks I will check it out...

One other thing I noticed which may not be a bug...
it seems some empires don't like to take their wounded
units into a city to get them healed up and instead keep
running them around the countryside as if they were fully
healthy. I don't know if all empires do this... is this a
bug like that one where AI empires wouldn't refill aircraft?
Maybe those units are just shell-shocked and don't know
enough to head for cover... lol

                  Keep up the good work...

Don't mean to sound impatient but have you done that yet?
I am just not sure where you mean the link will be...
at the top of this page? Can you post the link here?

Yeah, its up, at the temporary CTP2 database on http://www.mydocsonline.com
                      login: hexagonia
                      password: hextapul

In folder Apolyton Pack I would think.

On a sidenote, if the database isn't updated soon, I think I may apply for vacant position of CTP2 DB manager...

...and you'll get my hearty endorsement for the job.

Cradle is going on 2 months now since I asked for it to be posted - and Dale's codes/Martin's CityMod2 have been as long too.

Too late, I beat you to it! By weeks actually, but apparently Dan and Markos are so busy they don't even have time to set things up for me I pushed both Dan and Markos to let me help them out several times since sending my first email but so far without tangible results. I guess all you guys can do is wait and be patient, while I'll keep pushing them into action until I have a new title (other than King ) under my handle...

The line starts behind Dale, Martin and me!!!

                            ...or me Dale and Martin

                            ...or Martin, me and Dale

as long as we can see our files up here - here's hoping that happens soon.
