TOT & Colonies3

I want to play John Ellis's Colonies III but the only version of Civ2 I could find in a store is Test of Time. Does anyone know whether ColoniesIII will work with that?

I own basic Civ2 (pre 2.42) but obviously need a higher version.

You can probably play it with ToT, but you need to download the ToT converter and figure out how to use it.
