Thankful for any thoughts on this project of mine.

Finally, I'd just like to say Hi to everyone on this Forum! I hope we will
    get along.
So much to do in so little time...

    Hi to yoiu too.

There sure is a lot of interest in WWII scenarios!

Looks good so far, what events have you planned for the scenario?

      Be very Welcome.
No question WW2 is a very interesting (if not the most) idea for scenarios. And one of the best to play.
Dont wory. since i am here at CTP2 community (about an year). I hanvent seen a single mean insult or enemies. It is a very friendly community.

Well, I have planned a few event:
Ribbentrop-Molotov pact as Axis captures Warsaw.
Will cause russia to occupy the Baltic states of Lithuania, Latvia and
Estonia. Bessarabia will not be considered. War will be declared between
Finland (will not cause convertion) and USSR.

        Leader Generation:
Defeating foreign army may spawn military leader.
Capturing VP city may spawn military or civilian leader.
(I'm trying to come up with leaders and possible properties for them.
I'll be thankful for any ideas on great leaders...example at bottom)

        Aces:
Instead of Leader, army may get a special unit (an ace) that
will have special properties (like veteran status etc.).
Types: Tank Commander, Flying Ace and Naval Commander.
Each major nation have their own representation of an Ace.

        Invasion (proposition):
When a player enteres a neutral minor country, that nation's cities
will convert to the allied or axis player depending on attack. This
does not include Italy, USSR and Spain (major countries).
Converting nations will bring additional units to the cause.

        Occupation of foreign nations:
As a player has captured 75% or more of a foreign nationsVP, that
        nation will surrender.

        Lend Lease:
For each turn after start, there will be a chance for the US to send
destroyers (5-10) to the allies. The chance will increase each turn.

        Submarines:
If the axis keeps his submarins at sea, they will serve as blockade
ships, causing the income for the allies to be reduced.

        Blockade:
If the allied player keeps his warships at sea, they will serve as
blockade ships, reducing the losses from axis submarines.

        Pacific Theatre:
Depending on the Pacific war (randomized) additional resources
from the US may become available to the allies.

        Assassination:
If Axis is losing the war there will be a chance that the player will be
assassinated. This will cause the game to be lost if Axis is human.

        Axis Minor Countries:
If Axis attacks the Soviet Union, there will be a chance that Rumania,
Bulgaria and Finland joins the axis.

        Free French and Vichy Regime:
If France is occupied (see above) there will be 50% chance that
Marocko, Algeria, Tunisia will join either the axis or the allies.
        -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
        Leader Example:
        Name: Rommel
        Nation: Germany (Axis)
        Properties:
-Will cause all tanks at location to become veteran.
-Increases movement points for tanks at location by x2.
-Adds 5% chance to assissination attempt.
        -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I will post a tech tree as soon as possible.

        Question:
I don't want the messages about destruction of civilization to appear.
Can I somehow intercept that message (conversion!=destruction)?

        Well, back to work!
So much to do in so little time...

Well, you can change the contents of the message but I don't think you can get rid of it entirely.

Try writting inside the message code the following line:
            Code:
            Abort();
I think this will give the effect DDowell is looking for.
            But i never test it.
            Keep me informed.

Or find the message concerned, change it to messagebox if it is an alertbox, and remove the line
              Code:
              Show();
              Concrete, Abstract, or Squoingy?

I think this would be the best. After all no message or even a small warning after such important event

D'oh! Pedrunn, you're right! For months I've unsuccessfully been trying to remove messages with the Kill() command, but this doesn't work outside of buttons. I was convinced that this was possible in CtP1 and never understood why it didn't work in CtP2, but of course I was confused with the Abort() command, with which you *can* indeed prevent a message from being displayed at all. Thanks a ton for the reminder

IW, no removing Show() won't work as that will only 'minimize' the message in the messagebox, it will still exist. With Pedrunn's suggestion it should be possible to prevent the message from being displayed at all, minimized or otherwise (I'm yet to test this though).

I was working from the assumption that nobody reads those messages that are minimised. I don't even click the message tab.
                    Just me then...

You don't? The vast majority of messages goes there, some of them pretty useful/important. I only occasionally open them to read them entirely but I certainly read the 'headlines'...

                            Declarations: show.
                            trade: never use
city production: doesn't bother me. If I end up with excess units, I change, and empty queues I find at the end of each turn
                            wonder race: shows
celebrations, riots and revolutions almost never occur in my games, I don't tamper with happiness. I will pick up most of them as I zoom across the world with my units.
unconventional units: centre the screen giving a meaningful icon.
