  • New Medmod Update: DOA

I can't even start the new medmod without error messages. if i proceed further the game carshes. The first time, it siad there was an error in units.txt line 303
2nd time it was a missing sprite
3rd time it couldn't find any gvts
I'd like to know if anyone else is havin similar problems
"It is ridiculous claiming that video games influence children. For instance, if Pac-Man affected kids born in the 80's we should by now have a bunch of teenagers who run around in darkened rooms and eat pills while listening to monotonous electronic music."

    Chris,

I had the same problems and errors even before entering the game screen.
I deleted the entire med mod folder and reinstalled the picture.zip, the two sprite.zips and only the very latest text.zip and since its working fine.
I do not have to mention that you can only play the domestic alfa (second scenario in the med folder).

    Hope I could help.

    Thomas

testing these things is not as easy as you may thing. these problems come out after a long time of playing.

beyond that, if it worked perfectly, it wouldnt be called "alpha", it would be could "final".....

On a side note, when do you, the makers of the MedMod, think it'll come out of the alpha state?

I can deal easily with problems on arrival. But as the scenario starts loading, it crashes.

Have you altered any of your default .txt files yourself, before loading the MedMod.?

Chris, the errors you describe are the type you get when you try and use the upper, "units" version of the mod, which does not work. Try deleting the scen0001 folder and re-installing the latest text portion of the mod. No one else is reporting any problems, as far as I know.

I'll try re-downloading the texts. Maybe i did change something.
