  • New Map for King Arthur

Hey Omni - visited your created forum on your website and you asked if I have another map. Turns out that by tomorrow night, I will have completed one!

    You're a physic, aren't you?

Anyways, this will be a fictional map not based on any particular theme - I just painted and away my mouse went!

I think it's a good map, and I called it newearth for its filename. You would notice where North America and Eurasia would be, but this is a warped earth - no South America, and other major alterations. It's a fictional map with some resemblance to earth.

Interested in conferring with "King Arthur" to see if he would approve of it on the website?

When it's done make sure there's a readme file, since it will make it's way to apolyton this weekend if it's done on time

Okay, after about three hours of frustration in finishing my newearth map, I am pissed off!

I want to create this for a full game scenario with 13 total civilizations chosen at random from the 41 civilizations. But I cannot figure out how to do this! The civilization menu comes up when I launch the test scenario, and the 13 civilizations are pre-selected!

How can I allow random selection of the 13 civilizations in created scenarios?

And one more problem - I seem to have forgotten how I placed Settler units on my North America map for all the nations at their starting location. Can anyone refresh my memory? I'm sorry that this project's completion will be dealyed for a short time.

So far, Kormer is the only one to pull this off. Unfortunately, he doesn't know how he did it.

Okay.. I just tested an idea of mine... I upped the number of civs to 20 and the max civs to 32. Launched the editor on a 210x210 size map. Then I placed cities for 14 of the civs and saved the scenario. player1 was canada. I then loaded the scenario and played as the american indians. okay no problem. Then i saved it to see if I would be reverted back to player1. I loaded the game and I was still the american indians. After 15 turns I was still them. I believe this is the fix that kormer found. The question is that I've not done anything different other than increase my max civs.. but that shouldn't have an effect.. should it?

Where do you enter the separate number of civs and the separate number for max civs?

And I forgot how to place Settlers for all civs.

I know that already OmniGod - I should have made myself more clear.

I have 14 civilizations set as the maximum allowed, and the default 41 choices of civilizations.

Here is the problem: I set locations for all 41 civilizations on my newearth map, and when I launch the test scenario, the civilization choice screen already preselects the 13 civilizations from the 41.

How do I get my created scenarios to randomly select from the 41 civilizations instead of pre-selecting them?

In userprofile.txt, NonRandomCivs isn't set to Yes is it? If so, set it to No.

That's weird if that turns out to be the case, since I never had problems getting random civilizations with a full game.

But for some reason, I cannot launch my own created scenarios with random selected civilizations from all 41 on the list.

I will check that out soon. thanks
