  • Turn 83 --> Sophanthro

An interesting question has been posed by the High Priest.

Although the CTP game itself mentions the Incan people (see the Diplomacy window for an example), they are hardly an authority, so I consulted Webster's. They say that although the people themselves are the Inca, that when used as in a reference to, say, war-mongering Marines from Inca, the proper usage would be "war-mongering Incan Marines".

    • I would take issue with the Assyrian translation as according to the English edition of Chambers the correct phraseology would be 'War mongering Inca Marines from .....', 'An Inca Brigade of ......', etc etc.

There is no such word as 'Incan' in the 'English' language but maybe it is different in 'American' English?

        • Great Pharoah,

Rome is aware that Egypt may have played her turn before reading the very late Roman communique - we therefore forgives the Battleship attack on one of our Tanks. We do understand the meaning of 'Fog of War'...

Concerning news is that Londinium seems to have spontaneously rioted - Rome hopes that we will not again be subjected to this mysterious plague again...

          • If the Great Pharoah could move his battleships from the vicinity of the Roman city of Abusir, Caligula will consider hostilities at an end...

BTW - almost forgot, I am on holiday from tomorrow until Sunday (I can play again on Sunday!)

If possible due to the sensitivity of the World climate, I would prefer a hiatus until Sunday...

However I guess I could entrust the game to the caretakership of someone like Shavlor for these few days if you guys really want - let me know at work Gwilym.Owen@msdw.com tomorrow so I can send any instructions if needed...

I believe that any people may call and spell their name as they choose, so Inca it shall be!

However, as to the idea of a British or American spelling of the name when it is used as an adjective, I'll just point out that Inca was an American civilization!

              • Mobius, will you be able to play the turn tomorow, or are you gone by then?

I'm willing to wait until Sunday or have Shavlor sub. What's the consensus?

Egypt has removed her battleship from the Roman Cities, and although a peace treaty was not sent forth. Cairo will ratify a peace setlement from Rome.

It seems that Rome has discovered a most terrible weapon of destruction. Wales hopes that nuclear warheads are not used against any nation, especially in a time of fragility for mother nature.

The Assyrian buffer zone has been expanded, as the Inca cities of Chiripa and Pikillacta have both been welcomed into our nation.

The sinking of 2 Inca Destroyers this day will allow safer maritime travel in the region.

Speaking of the maritime, we must ask that our friend Demosthenes order his ship to refrain from continuing on it's present course, as it has entered a war zone, and we cannot guarantee it's safety under such conditions.

                                King Rick,

Unfortunately, word reached my naval officers too late for them to change their present trajectory. this shall be rectified as soon as possible. Many thanks for the warning, my merchant sailors have heard terrible rumours of what the Incan sailors get up to.
