Newbie PBEM?

Hi! Total newbie to CTP here (I'd classify myself between novice and intermediate on Alpha Centauri, but I've only had CTP for less than a month). I'd like to start trying some PBEMs (preferably) with other relative newcomers to get myself rolling. If anyone is interested, email me at kelvinchan@poboxes.com and we could arrange something. Oh yeah, if anyone can recommend any other multiplayer (PBEM) forums, it'd be most appreciated (I've seen very good such forums for SMAC but not a trace for CTP).

why not? let us beginn, if there are some others, perhaps a small map wihth 3 to 4 players?

I already have someone email me to take the Incas spot, so now there are 3 taken seats. I'll go with the recommendations and use small map with 4 players.

Could anyone recommend a difficulty level?

I think perhaps 1 or at the most 2 AI players, bearing in mind that it is a small map and we have 4 human players. We run the risk of starting on top of each other which can lead to someone getting wiped out in the first few turns!

Things will be pretty crowded with 4 players and a couple of ai's on a small map.

I agree: small map is pretty tiny in my POV. One AI at most. None is fine too.

How many AI civilizations do we want? Humans will go with 4 (unless nobody signs up by Monday 22:00, Pacific time).

Oh yeah forgot: what barbarian level? I'm inclined for Restless Tribes, as that's the default in Civ2.

BTW I only have one settler, is that the same for everyone?
