  • New 3 player game

I'm looking to put together a new 3 player game, with 2 AI's, regular map size, standard CTP with 1.2 patch. Relaxed participation rules. Once a day would be nice, but instead of stand-ins, if you havent submitted a move in 24 Hours, We'll rely on your previously entered moves, and advance the turn for you (without peeking if possible).
I'm GMT +1, but any geography is OK
Welcome first timers, and will give advice or hints (only where requested of course

Count me in. Unless you only want new users
BTW I would suggest using some SLIC so that you start with 3 settlers. I was going to say some warriors but they cost production so unless you built a city the first turn you need to modify the units text file or you will lose them. And I think you were hoping to not do this. Then again you have it be when you build a city in the first couple of turns the warriors come. just a idea

Starting with 3 Settlers is a good idea Shavlor. The start-up can be tedious. And being experienced in no problem. All are welcome.

        Be Careful Stavros!!!

The 'Beast' is an evil fiend that will oppress the people and think nothing of the suffering 'It' causes!

Seriously, a three human player game sounds a good and fast idea so unless you only want newbies to PBEM I'd like to join in.

What level are you going to set? Remember that if it's Diety any player set next to the AI is going to be severely penalised whilst if it's at anything lower than King they're going to be in paradise.

Here's a newbie you can count in.
I get the impression though that we have a lot of people in the same time zone (UK, Germany, Belgium).
I hope this is not a problem.
          veni vidi PWNED!

It looks like we've got a corum,
            Shavlor, USA
            Jon, UK
and me, Stavros (Born Australian, but living in Germany),

If these nationalities and names are OK, we'll start with those. I'm still waiting for the slic mod fromn Shavlor for the 3 settlers from Shavlor, then we can get under way. Any preblems... emal me

Maestro, I have another newbie, Sigve, from Norway(almost a neighbour of yours, if not culturally), who is interested in a three way, and we can start another campaigne...

              Sorry.... Forgot to clarify few points;

Jon, Yep I agree, Emreror level for the 2 AI's. The Beast can yet be tamed....

Maestro, The time zones have pro's and cons. If coincidentally all players are on-line at the same time (ie in the same time zone), you can quickly throw down a few rounds, but a neatly spaced time zone player list can bring a consistant once a day turnaround... We'll see how it goes....

Theres still a small glitch in the SLIC but we should be underway soon.
The settings are (almost) normal. A little warmer, and a little wetter. Thats it.
I noticed in the SLIC that it also provides some initial advancements:
                  Agriculture
                  Toolmaking
                  Mining
                  Domestication
                  Bronze_Working

You would have probably figured it out yourselves, but I thought I'd mention it anyway.

OK I've sent the first turn to Jon. We'll close this thread, and post turns under "England US Australia Game".
One other thing. I've got the German version of the game, so the country names are a little...well.. Germanic. The only other noticible difference is a few strange words in the Diplomacy pages, but nothing too major.
