    There might be a chance.

We have more than one game, which are suffering from lack of players attention.

Genesis and Civilized World to mention a couple.

Moderators needed for Aint No Fun and Midway. David, you're more than welcomed to moderate Midway. Let me know if you're still interested.

Players wanted for Midway and possibly for The Gathering and Strife. Positions are relative weak in all. Perhaps Vandal-1 and josgalo are interested? Let me know if you are.

Erm, hey there. I have not finished a game of CtP for years, and may not have ever finished one. I recently found the CD and an old post of mine in the CtP strat forum which was replied to by someone telling me to get into the PBEM games, and I would find the interest in CtP.

So, here I am. I have no clue how this works, even after reading Solver's topped newbies thread and most of the posts here.
            Consul.

Back to the ROOTS of addiction. My first missed poll!

              Hey there, MrWhereItsAt.
Might I interest you in a game of 'weakest link' ?
You will replace Pave there, and will make a team with TheBirdman, a most experienced player.
The game has only just started.
Apply here if you are interested.

Btw, are you still playing civ3 ?

                Hi MrWhereItsAt.

Without doubt playing against humans is quite interesting.
PBEM is one way to do that but I should warn you that it is a very slow way and a typical PBEM game can take more than two years to be completed.
Not to mention the frustration you might encounter sometimes when the turn is... lost somewhere between players

Actually PBEM games only take a three to four months if they are one on one.
If it ain't broke, find a bigger hammer.

I have played in a game that lasted one and a half month but that is not the rule

However one on one games as you say are pretty fast indeed.

MrWhereItsAt welcome aboard, in PBEM you can use all the skills you have mentioned and then some.

Give it a whirl, if it is not for you or you find your time short just give some advanced notice as we are all flexable here.

Cruise through the threads here, from the top to get a feel for the human factor, diplomacy etc.

Very shortly we will be starting up rankings for multiplayer PBEM games with a few new games.

This is the best group of people and the best forum for this game. We have one on one, multiplayer PBEM games and online games for your enjoyment.

I have bumped up the email thread for you to add your gaming email address. I have also bumped up the strategy thread, lot's of advanced tips in there.

Have fun looking forward to a game with you.

Thanks guys! This does seem a very organised and "matey" forum, kinda what the Civ2 DG forum is turning into.

blackince - I mentioned skills? I am skill-less, CtPwise anyway.

Like contracts, I don't think I can sign up to a two year long game. But I am stuck in one city for a number of years until I finish my PhD.... I will look around as you suggest until I figure out what I can do.

Yes I do still play Civ3. In between my Demo Game participation in the Single Player Civ3 and Civ2 games (I am President in one and soon-to-be Prez in the other), as Consul in the Intersite Civ3 Demogame and an Ambassador for the Roleplay team in the PtW Demo game, that is. I have also been heavily involved in the SMAC DG, so CtP is the one game I have that I have not got to grips with! I am hoping to (mostly) retire from DGing in a month's time, and then I will be free to do lots. Learning about CtP is one of things I hope to do.

Cheers again for so many replies. I will check back here soon.

Thats skill enough for me - I accept you as teammate in "The Weakest Link" if you want to join that game.

Edit: Pave wrote is in back in the game.......
