  • Holiday Season: 2003

    Let's see...
in the US Turkey Day is the 28th of November.
Christmas Eve and Christmas fall on their normal days.
Same with New Year's Eve and New Year's.

So, how many of us are still going to be around to fully play all of our turns? How long should we expect delays? Should we try to find some temp subs for some of our games?

All of these are questions running through my head.

    My Plans

I may be able to play a few while vacationing (thank God for an iBook!) Plus my in-laws have an iMac (AKA iLamp) so that shouldn't be a problem...

just expect delays from me during the holidays...

The faster games such as Fast Fliers, Star Dreamers, Great Alliances and my 1x1 SuperLeague games will probably suffer the most but I should still be able to play most days, but if I don't get it in the 24hr rule I'll certainly get it in 48-72.

If moderators of my different games could let me know if this will be a problem, I'd appreciate it.

And everybody else... will I even be a problem? If enough of you aren't going to be able to send turns over the holidays we could just close down that game/s until afterward.

It's all up to everybody though... post your thoughts, and expected gone times please.

Nov. 27 to Dec. 1 2002 I won't be home, but I'll be able to play a few turns now and then.

    The same goes for:
Dec 21-Jan 2. Though those plans aren't in stone yet, that's the planned length of the abscence from my main computer.

Except from a few days, where I might be just a little tired I guess I will be able to play as usual.

Heh... edited it to say "2002" rather than "2003."

Anyway, bird, I wasn't too active last year, what do the more active players who go out of town do over the holidays? Find a sub?

Last year we took it as it came as far as I remember.

But still, post in the thread "I'm not here" if/when you know you are away more than .... say 48-60 hours or so.

You can always find the thread by using the Top-thread from Solver: Info Central.
