  • Why is the a [1] after my mail addy on CtP turns?

Just before playing a CtP PBEM turn (Wow, I hear you say, RB has no e-mail troubles), I notice I have "frozenfire911@hotmail.com[1]" in my turn name. I also notice that FlameFlash, my reciepient for the turn, has not got the [1] in his name.

I know that it isn't much, but could anyone tell me why?

Do you download your turns through web browser or email client?

I just press the big "Download File" button on my HotMail screen. I'm guessing thats via the eweb browser.

When you use Microsoft Explorer each file is saved in a temporary folder before save or open it.

If you download the same file Windows Explorer doesn't delete the file but create a new one with that [1] number, try and see that with a 3rd download you get a [2] ... etc.

            I guess ber got me

The same will happen if you copy a file from IE's cache to any other folder in your system.
