Well I must say it is nice to see you have defeated the one game wonder flaw Quinn. At least they are wiped from the rankings after a few weeks of inactivity.
Good job, the one win I am the best does not apply here.

Now I do not understand this, Ber has one more win than you yet you remain tops?
Birdy has 6 loses and one win yet he is third?
Math has four wins and two loses yet he is 9th?
Lung has one loss and he is 4th lololol. Ok what is up with that?
I am not critisizing the rankings but any layman looking at this would say the same. In fact they do.. Hatschy is 2 and 0 yet he is 8th? heck he has better stats than you do?
I will take a wild guess here and say it is dog eat dog here. You can only be best if you beat the best right? The amount of games played obviously does not matter, hatschy in 8th? Confusion...
So if I was to join and beat you, win then say take the weakest challenger in the two week span I too could keep first place for a lifetime?
Again no disrespect could you explain it better as far as what we perceive with the above rankings?
Regards

Right Blackice. This is a LADDER not a ranking system. Have you never been on a challenge ladder anywhere in any other capacity??? I thought challenge ladders were common knowledge to most everyone. Did you read the first post in this thread? It explains it there. You got it right... You have to beat the player above you to take his position. That's it. If they decline too many challenges or ignore challenges, they drop down or off. And as far as you challenging me... Sure, I accept the challenge. In actual ladder etiquette, you can only challenge 3 up from the bottom of deity, but I will give you a shot at the title by challenging you directly (from the top down). That still fits within the rules.

Presently I am defending my position by playing against no 4, 6, 7, 8 and 14. Plus I have a pending game against no 9.
I guess that should be enough - unless some of those youngsters are kicking my ass, forcing me a step or two down the ladder.First they ignore you. Then they laugh at you. Then they fight you. Then you win.

Thanks for your reply people
Well not sure if I have time, multipalyer rankings is begging for a new start, but in all fairness I am not special nor am I Paul
I have no idea where on the ladder I would start as a deity beater? Seems to me that is where if any place I should start right?
Then I would start at 3 challenges above where I am on the ladder, to continue my surge forward? Where is that starting point?
Ok so I start there and continue to challenge. Do I have to accept all challanges or what I chose to? I mean why would I pick last place when first place is beggin for a new name?
If I am first can I simply accept weaker opponents?
If so or not, as Birdy points out, does it take that combination and that many games to keep one's position?“The Communist Manifesto was correct…but…we see the privileges of the capitalist bourgeoisie yielding…to democratic organizations…In my judgment…success lies in a steady [peaceful] advance…[rather]…than in…a catastrophic crash."Eduard Bernstein

Blackice... Good to see you here. You start at the bottom of the deity players because you have beaten deity on a/i. That's the starting point for all new ladder players -- at the bottom of their BAID or Best A/I Defeat group. In this case, you could challenge Nimrod, Milamber, or geoffrey arnold. Then just work your way up if you win. That's how it goes in the normal sense. As far as what challenges you have to accept, that is open ended. In general, you should try to accept all challenges from 3 below you. Any other challenges are completely up to you to accept or reject. If you play like Lung you can continue to dodge challenges for awhilebut that will soon catch up to him and we will have to drop Lung down a few notches if he continues to do that. If you can't accept a challenge from three below for whatever reason, simply state the reason here in this thread. Lung has kept his position because he gave legitimate excuses as to why he couldn't accept the challenge... but that's starting to wear thin Lung
I'll add you to the ladder at the bottom of Deity. Good luck to you!

ok, thanks Quinns I understand the ladder concept but in most cases the rules vary. So if one does take top spot they could just play weaker players to remain there. Mind you weaker still remains the top 4 and the top four here could beat most mortal men.

MrWhereItsAt "What would anyone gain"
You would gain a game, experience, fun, allies and possibly a new ladder ranking.
We would gain a game, experience, fun, an ally and possibly a win or loss.
Is that not why you are here? Or would you prefer a multiplayer game with loads of diplomacy?
Or perhaps an online game? I will be online tonight nl server at 9:00 pm est.
Your choice it's all here, I am sure you will find most, if not all people here, very open to discussions of strategy and winning tactics. Let alone wine women and song...
Or beer, barbeques, beaches and babes
Pick your poison and have at it.“The Communist Manifesto was correct…but…we see the privileges of the capitalist bourgeoisie yielding…to democratic organizations…In my judgment…success lies in a steady [peaceful] advance…[rather]…than in…a catastrophic crash."Eduard Bernstein
