Maybe I should change it to watch for flying threads?
Here's what you posted in the other thread though, just to consolidate (since this one has already gotten more action )

For anyone who missed that we've been toying with the idea of having a multiplayer game where each player is restricted to just one city.
Conclusions so far:
Start on a random map.
Terraforming should be possible right from the start (requires toolmaking, or whatever) and be really cheap so that you can arrange your city radius as you wish.
Current topics under discussion:
How much gold do you get to start with?
How expensive should the techs be?I'm not conceited, conceit is a fault and I have no faults...

I orginally came up with the idea. A pre-made, balanced map were each player is only allowed to have one city. No ruins will be on the map to prevent the "luck factor". I propose each players starting point be half grassland, half mountains with rivers and goods on each tile, since it will be only one city this should provide enough income to finance a war and research, and a forest or jungle tile on the city's starting point to provide an early soure of production. Plaers would be required not to produce any settlers, but if the game could last till some one could biuld space or sea engineers, they would be allowed. A sea tile adjactent to each city would be an aterniate for of playing, allowing players to build ships instead of a purly land war.
I have a test map made for anyone interested in seeing what I am proposing. So one guy turns to another guy and says "T.A.I." His friends says "What?" He responds by saing "Think about it;)"

*shrugs* I like the idea...
Does it have to be just 4? I'm just thinking about how chaotic/fun it'd be to have 8 going at it (though harder to put together, understandably.) This would be a cool way to drag me into the Internet play world... though I'd prefer to keep it PBEM just so I don't have to take up an entire day.
As far as it goes though, I think we'd need to either have all the players able to go naval or none of them able to go naval.
I like the idea of being able to build space engineers if you can survive that far.
And thanks Solver, for the merge.I'm not conceited, conceit is a fault and I have no faults...

We can play with up to eight. I just used 4 on the map to give you the idea of the map. And it would be a group vote on whether or not to use navy units. How many are interested in this game?So one guy turns to another guy and says "T.A.I." His friends says "What?" He responds by saing "Think about it;)"

If it's a group larger than four, it might be interesting to do a team kind of thing. One gets some costal areas, the other gets mountains, so the two compliment each other as far as the units each produces go.
