Or do we?
A sort of explanation on my situation given in the announcements thread so please take a look there.
I will need though any player offered to sub me here as perma sub (not replacement). I am on 14 games but the one (Phoenix) haven't been for the past 5-6 months and I am not sure if it will even resume. Also I intended to start 3 new games but some of the players are on vacation (Mobius, berXpert) and some will not be available as I understood (Gavrushka) so I am not sure what I am going to do with them yet.
I think we might have different versions of the MedMod (4.12 and 4.13 - futhermore, there have been a patch to 4.13 due to en error in governments). So Phoenix will not restart.
I we want another game based on Wes' mod, we MUST be sure, that ALL have the same version. I havn't decided yet, if we should make a new try.
First they ignore you. Then they laugh at you. Then they fight you. Then you win.

I would still really like to see a MedMod game work, but the logistics are annoying. Does anyone know how the one on CGN went?
This may sound stupid, but by MedMod, you mean the medieval mod?
I have a one player game running and if there are more ppl who have the mod, I wouldn't mind trying out a PBEM with the mod. It's different but it's got some interresting units to play with
...They reach Hell's levels, and form the springs that fill
The sunless gulf we passed of Acheron,
And, draining thence, the Styx, and Phlegethon....

We (TheBirdMan, Paul, John, Frazer, Keygen and Don) started one game i september/october last year - but becuase of an unknown gameerror (missing object of a kind), the game stalled at turn 15.
So if we want to restart, we MUST be sure, that ALL have the excact same version.
To Flameflash: Keygen is back now - but he seeks "perma sub", who always will be ready to play for him, whenever his away. Make a contact to him regarding the Monkey-game.

Birdman, what gives with the mod? Is it played as a scenario, or does it mess with your game files? Either way I'm up for it, just say the word
Short answer: No, it doesn't mess with your gamefiles. Only difference is you can't load the PBEM turn by 'double-clicking', you must put it in a save game directory and load.
Long answer: Possibly, if you happen to be the last player, you should worry about the AI files because the Barbarians will be taking their turn from your gamefile rules.
OK, so the long answer was shorter than the short one , but never mind...
It will -somehow - affect ALL your games, cause the contents in folder ..\ctp_data\default\aidata (and ..\aidata\AIPS) will be changed.
A work-around here is first to copy the default files in the folders to another location, and then back, when you have "installed" the scenario folders. Personally I think, that is the best solution (as I don't play SP games anymore and therefore really don't care for the behaviour of the AIs).

Needed a permanant replacement for siege in several games...
Resumes must include desire to play games on time. Desire to kick butt. Experience in kicking butt and playing turns on time.
Submit resumes to blackicegl@cogeco.ca only qualified applicants will be contacted

You can use the modpicker and avoid any modification of original files.
All you need to know about Modpicker is there ricketyclik
