A small group of peasants is camping in a large thick forest.
They are discussing whether this is a good place to stay.
And how did the peasants know it was a thick Forest ? When asking a nearby tree for directions it had no idea of the ROOT and suggested the peasants leaf by doing a YEW turn... aarrgh!
The Irish mill about as per usual without their unproclaimed leader, but you can tell sometihng's missing. The people lack a voice. Their concerns and ideas pass them by without ever being voiced.
Ireland is fine for now, but there's not a man in the country who doesn't miss Podraig's encouragement. And for the future? The people lack guidance. No good can come of this.
The granaries still fill, the frontier still expands...but the people, the people feel stagnated.

“The Communist Manifesto was correct…but…we see the privileges of the capitalist bourgeoisie yielding…to democratic organizations…In my judgment…success lies in a steady [peaceful] advance…[rather]…than in…a catastrophic crash."Eduard Bernstein
Or do we?
Tis a new morn in Ireland -- yet her charismatic leader, Podraig, remains missing. When he walked among us, twas just as though he were a man among men...yet now that he has gone, we have all come to see him as more of a leader than ever we did while he was here.
Irish life goes on. An' Seamus ha' been goin' on, too...but to what good, I don't know.
Seamus ha' been busy. Ever since he taught us to be appeasin' the spirits last Solstice, the man's been takin' on airs like somethin' sick. "We bin ignorin' the spirits," he cries, "they be punishin' us, they do." He says the spirits be what stole Podraig away in the dark of the night. Though it must be said that the spirits mostly tell us to be at what Seamus thinks we should be at. Go figure...
Yet Seamus has his followers. They follow him around like the plague and bully whoever's talkin' back to him. Podraig's only just gone, and already we become divided.

Seamus : "I don't mean ta be raggin' on yer case all times John. Tis not how I asked ya ta be buildin' it, is all."
John : "And Seamus, who between us is the carpenter? You or I? I know me trade and I know the proper way ta be doin' things."
Seamus (angry now) : "JOHN CARPENTER OF BLARNEY! Tis not for you or for I that we be workin' this day. Tis for the spirits, John, the spirits. And you'd be dumber than a bag of nails ta be crossin' the spirits!"
John (muttering) : "Whether it be one of Seamus's fancy 'temple' ordeals or be it a poor man's ****ter, you'd think the spirits'd know enough ta be wantin' after good craftsmanship..."
Yet it didn't worry Seamus that some weren't content following his orders; his Temples were built anyway. One in each town, right next to the communal granaries.
