The Japanese have settled on 3 islands, fully explored one other and partially explored a 5th. Still they haven't found any evidence of other nations.

This was true until I received the turn 45 sent from Syoris which I opened only to discover it was the turn that Syoris receives, and not the turn he should send. So I know for a fact that there are Irish people on the planet!

However, the Japanese, being a noble and honorable people (until the 1940's anyway) did nothing to exploit this unexpected espionage opportunity, immediately lowered their eyes from the map, hit the quit button and expunged the map from their hard disk.
