Wonders do not necessarilly mean power. It depends on their type, right time to build and the whole strategy. Anyway, I must confess I'm quite surprised by the way Fuzz builds so many cities, still being able to be in the vanguard of science. It is probably due to the Mayan land type which is apparently not bad at all - I always dreamed about many rivers through good forests ). Worth to mention also clever using of trade advantages. It seems, though, that our friends Maya will soon encounter major happiness problems, won't them?

By the way, does anybody know how CTP calculates that power graph? Struggling against AI I found that the power graph doesn't actually reflect real power, especially if things are heading toward a kinda "blitzkrieg"...

Her you can find the information about the
        Powergraph Calc

I agree with you that wonders not mean power, but part of the calc is made by the wonders, in general building improvements or units (mainly settlers) move your graph really high but the science or the gold are not take in count.

And the terrain is a big factor for sure, each one have pros and contras, the river in the forest have a high production but is low in gold = low in science. The costal cities have a high grow high gold but low production = lower power graph but sure a higer science. So the game is equilibrated I think

Imagine this hypotetic case: Player A in the forest player B in the coast.

A build 30 warriors (his higest tech is domestication) and attack B
B have cannion making and defend him self with 2 pickmen and a cannion.

        Q: Who win?

And sure A have a super higher power graph but not necesary is the more powerfull, that's why Blackice decide to quit from ratings 'coz the 9th turn based power graph is not necesary the size of the civ. But that's other discution

The powergraph is rubbish, pay no attention to it until the 70th to 100th turns. Then if you're less than a quarter of what your rival is, you *might* be in trouble. But let me assure you Vitolg, the Mayan peoples are very happy, and will remain very happy throughout the entire game.

True about the power graph unless you keep score, (rated) in pbem...

So if you are ranked pay close attention to the power graph as the rating system here and the game style change from online play.

The vets in this game who have a high ranking will drop like a rock in the ratings if they fall behind in the power graph to lesser ranked players each 9th turn...

It is different and you play to the power graph here and adjust your style of play to Accommodate it, if you keep score of course...

Hebrews continue to admire power, magnanimity and friendliness of the Mayan leader. Thank you so much for the bunch of gifts you sent. Great Maya, we will be always at your side!

              Roman leader,
our lands have been opened to your envoy. City of Ashdod is engaging in arranging a honourable reception.

Berexpert, thanks for the link, the facts are interesting. I agree with all you. Let's see the future. Fuzz is really showing us his back from quite far away, but everything can change in a moment...

Maya sends greetings to the Roman through the icebitten wastes of our northern frontier. Now that contact has been made between our nations, to move your knight in pursuit of our ward, or towards our cities can only be interpreted as a threat. We greet you in kindness, but we give warning also, that an incident may not occur here.

Trusted Hebrews, in view of our longterm friendship, we are removing our small southern guard from the lands that separate us. This is a great act of trust, and one we are sure you will respect. We would offer safe escort for any future expansion you may have planned. We would recommend lands to the north and west, where elephant and pearls are abundant.

Americans, your hospitality is gracious as ever, we look forward to the next feastday, that we may drunkenly admire your womenfolk once again.

I guess this would be the coming of a new age? Maya considered applying our scientists to the task some time ago, but instead made preparations for a different approach in the future. We will welcome the new age with open arms, may it see honourable diplomatic transactions with our neighbours.

Great Maya, we deeply appreciate another sign of friendship you have expressed. In reply we decided to withdraw our guards inside the country so that you feel more secure on your Western border.
