  • yes i want to challenge some deity players

    I would like to challenge

Trol to a duel dual match

Lung to a duel dual match

Protoss72000 to a dual duel match.

I prefer having pollution off and no mods. but the rest is up to you.

Is puting a farm under your city cheating? What moves are illegal in pbem games? and how would i tell if someone is cheating on me?

I can't say for sure - but forget about IronLung. He was married last summer............

And he is not old enough to leave the warm bed for some good turns of CTP, neither is his wife.... not yet......

She must be hostage! Poor Lung. He hasn't got his priorities straight yet.

Looks like we'll have to drop Lung from the ladder if we don't hear from him in two weeks.

MPTeach -- Place your challenges in the Topped: CTP PBEM Challenge Ladder thread if you would please. That would make them official challenges. Thanks.

And, yes, putting a farm or mine under a city before building acity on top of it, is technically considered a minor bug and is disallowed by the community unless both players agree to it before the challenge begins.

I would call that real priorities....wouldn't you?

Wasn't farm under city alowed in SL2 ? I thought I read about it somewhere. Rules for challenge games might be different though.

Regarding farms and mines under cities. It was discussed earlier and determined to be a minor bug. So in order to comply with the rules of the challenge ladder, "... no bug exploits allowed unless agreed upon by both players at the beginning of the game...", the standard is not to use it.

lung will eventualy come back unless mr and mrs lung decide to to have a little settler together and then all hope is lost.

It is allowed in SL2 all right. Farm under city. But Quinns is absolutely correct the community decided to require agreement before using it.

Same as for rush buy trick too.

And I think there is one other, can't remember.

the SL community also banned slaving your partners units.

                    tricks are for kids

Same as for rush buy trick too
What exactly is the rush buy bug? does that involve the nanite factories? Do they ban all rush buys?

Slaving your parteners units is obvious, is it considered unlawful to slave barbararian and random AI units that trespass my territory?

Isnt it possible to open your opponents pbem turn before emailing it to them? that would be illegal.

Cheating is for losers, or for when theres money involved.

No, no, no... Standard rush-buy is fine (including Nanite Factories). What IS disallowed is the rush-buy-SWITCH bug, where you can rush-buy a low priced improvement then SWITCH the queue to get a much better unit on the next turn. This is a bug, and is disallowed in the CTP PBEM Ladder.

And yes, opening your opponent's turn is illegal, but is impossible to prove. We have to use the honor system on this one.

And actually, the best rule is: use common sense. There are many bugs in the game one can exploit... giving you access to seeing what your enemy can see, all the goody huts or something... it should be pretty obvious that such things are illegal .

So in order to comply with the rules of the challenge ladder

Or PBEM rules in general, this goes for PBEM rules online also. Most if not all online players know the PBEM rules. So if you happen to be online and call this as the rule for the game, and the other player is not familiar with the rules, inform them and send them here.

no bug exploits allowed unless agreed upon by both players at the beginning of the game..."

This is the basis for all PBEM games, online or other wise.

And yes, opening your opponent's turn is illegal, but is impossible to prove.

Unless you are playing with a moderator they can spot this without much difficulty.
