    Sad, but true

Like growing up..(Yes..some people say I will one day..but soon to be 44..I dont forsee it in near future)

and then remembering your childhood pleasant memories...

you gather your emotional baggage...run to the "HAPPY PLACE " and then...the let down..because all your friends you once had or thought you had..are gone..grown up and moved on.

This is how I feel..when after a long day at work I seek peace and tranquility in a long game on Call To Power in one of the online servers..

Now..there are but a few of us derelicts..(I cant even spell anymore) left here

I remember growing up in ...BACK-IN-DA-DAY! ..when there were somewhere around 8 lobbies...usually on a Friday or Saturday or even Sunday..we would have 30 or more people playing..

I remember my boyhood friends...Pin..Aero Lusitano Dr Bibber Mr.Black Paul was even there then..the SoUl Clan from Toronto...Yoda...Swissy..General Macarthur..Catete...Gary..(Gav)..Quebec was here...some German players....many faces..fewer names....I went by Patton..or DrDanger or Red October...

Its like loosing touch with a once close friend..then one day..you pick up the paper and opening the Obituaries to find that they passed...seemingly overnight..gone..like so many wasted days..but now..they beckon..like the Beatles rendering one of my Favorite all time songs..YESTERDAY

Pardon me whilst i reflect..but I sure miss the multitude of players once associated with this game..

    Me..I still play..
    BUT..I have started RON and C & C Generals..

I sure grow misty eyed when, for at least a few hours I see 8 or soemtimes even 12 or more showing up to play.

Funny to even see "Neewbies"...you almost feel guilty beating them..then I remember how I felt when Faded Glory-Hole smoked me and I thought he cheated..he didnt..he was just that much better..until i was privy to some information how to exploit the less than obvious..not cheats but techniques and strategies..

So..I sign off for now..just venting about how she was the Prom Queen to me..still is..but..well...she isnt the center of attention for many nowadays.....

    Peace

Troll man, think of this for a moment

You have six to eight one-one PBEM games with a variety of good players. Math, Berx, Bird, Black, Flame, Rickety lets say.

Each day you may spend a thirty minute session or maybe two. After 60 to 90 days you have finished several very memorable games.

Now I can't say you would get the same action from multiplayer PBEM though those really are slow, but the one-one goes pretty good. And having a few games going might be just what the CTP marriage counseler order to keep you in love with your sweet heart of a Game.

    So what say you sir?
If it ain't broke, find a bigger hammer.

What I dont like about PBEM..and I stand by this..is the ability to open turns and see other players setup.

True..if you know what your doing you can also do this in a MP game..but...

I also like excluding units and you would need a scenario for that...

I just really enjoy the good old 8-14 hour games I was once playing

Maybe I will play a pbem game again my friend..perhaps....I shall

      Thanks for the invite-2-counsellor though

      Peace
