Amar sat on a step outside his brick hut's entrance in the shade of the wooden roof overhang. The narrow streeet was nearly deserted except for some of his neighbor's children playing with glass marbles on the pavement a little further up the hill. He could hear their laughter and excited chattering as they played, but besides that there was no other sound. Most of the people who lived on the street had gone to the market today as a new caravan had arrived from Bombay bearing spices, incense and jute. The caravans were few and far between, and everyone rushed to the market to bid on these precious goods when they arrived at the market.
He touched his flute to his lips and played a few test notes. He moved the flute from his lips and smiled. Then he closed his eyes and brought the hollow wooden stick back to his lips and began playing it. The few housewives who had stayed back to tend to their infants smiled when they heard the notes. Amar, played his flute often and everyone loved it. It was a peaceful and serene sound, that could make anyone smile.
Back in his hut,his mom smiled as she stirred her pot of stew. Amar is just like his father, so free spirited and care free she thought, I am sure that letting him go with the expedition wasn't a bad idea, he'll be happy there. He always wanted to do something with his life. She sighed I'll miss him.
News had spread in Delhi about the ships Amar and Kuljeet has sighted. Rumors were already spreading that the Armada that the Maharajah had sent out had returned with news of a bountiful and rich land. No one had believed that the sailors would ever return once they ventured beyond the horizon, but they had defied all religious texts and the Maharajah's gamble had paid off.
Rumor had it that the Maharajah had already been aproached by several priests/philosophers and Merchants to allow them to join the expedition that was being prepared to explore, chart and discover this land. Most of the Armada was still at sea and only a few ships had come in, and the captains had gone straight to the Maharajah's Palace. So no one was sure, but already the people who hoped to join the expedition to this new land had begun making preparations. Amar was one of these people and he had decided he wanted to go.
At first his mother had forbid it, but he convinced her to give in. He wanted to see what was out there, to discover new things. To live the life of a brave adventurer, not that of a labourer who would toil through his life to make a few Rupees a year and then die a poor man having accomplished nothing. Yes, his mind was made up. If the expedition does leave, he would be a part of it.
It was going to be months before the expedition left, but an undertaking such as this would take months of preparation, but he didn't have too many perparations to make. He was in bliss, he could see the chance of his lifetime within his grasp. He was soon going to meet his destiny...

Turn to Frazer.
King Solver was extremely happy about The Great Inca Frazer of the Incans. Last reports from his men, Sancho, Alvarez and Juan de Garzia showed that, even though Incan people are wild, they have high intelligence. How could this be explained? Probably it's that they have a good intelligence, that they were born with, but their lands are extremely rich, so that they never needed to do hard work, and thus they seem wild to our nation.
Also, we're greately satisfied by the fact that Spain isn't on the Incan maps, so we feel pretty safe thus far.
Not even a story, just a short piece of something.
