    Church Times....Special Edition

The crowds gathered today as the news spread that at last His Purity would show himself to his new flock. The 28th September will forever be now know as St Jon's Day for suddenly the excited voices fell silent and an awesome hush came over the crowd. 'There he is!, screamed a small child and truly it was so. The sheer joy was too much for some to take and several died of bliss whilst others swooned with delerium.

Would he speak, was the next question but seeing the effect of a mere glimpse of him 'The Sinless One' decided to wait fearing that these simply folk would be driven to the brink of madness by just so much joy he chose to retire until another day. Truly his mercy knows no bounds!

Back home in Tronheim, Hagar also stood in the late afternoon sun - it would soon be cold tonight, the cold came early now, only a few hours aften the sun disappeared - he could feel it in his bones.

He wished his friend the Blacksmith had been home now - he needed some smalltalk and not that of his wife, the great (also i weight) Brunhilde kept him busy with.

Suddenly one of his sons came shouting: "Hagar - wake up. Your presence is wanted immidiate".

"I don't want to - not now. Tell her" he answered.

"It's not mum - not this time. We have just got a message from your old pal - sorry the blacksmith - he write he have great news for you".

"So? What for example. Is he comming back soon? My horses need new shoes!".

"My horses....! No dad - read this".

"Hmmmmm.... yes-yes-yes only gossip...... hmmmm ? What's this???"

"That's what I think is important"

"You think?! Ok, now listen: He propose I should make a deal. With this religious madman who call himself a saint - what is a saint anyway, probably some french duke or something like that. What do I know.

Well - we should leave this village called Cannes, that we conquered recently - and the french should leave all land south of Hammersfest? What have he been drinking - and with who?

      What do you think then?"

"It's a fine idea. The citizens dosn't like us anyway".

"Go home my son. If I should leave every inch just because people didn't like me - where should I then go? Go home boy.

      NO I SAY.

If - and only if - the price would be much higher.

The french should not only leave the land south of Hammersfest, they should retreat to a point just west of Dijon.

AND they should pay at least 500 gold. Because that's what I owe the temple in Bornholm after the short visit of a french cleric, who stole from my druide - not only his gold, but also all the beer.

He has never forgiven me not to protect his home as I had promised. He asks me to expel or imprison those fanatics, who are making touble in his city, but I know what that would cost me. 1000 Gold! At least! But-but-but. Some gold, some kindness and some trade - then he - the duke, not the druide - could get his village back.

But how do I know, that this french loonie are ready for that?"

                Wonder of Wonders

Let the first Sermon of the His Purity be heard:

                My Beloved Children,

France is indeed a sad and sorrowfully neglected land but already my everlasting love has extended to both you and our friends and neighbours. 'Tis true that they are heritic dogs but there still resides in them the hope of salvation. Their happy exchange of cartographic information, sorely needed, and ready signing of Treaties of Non-Aggression shows them to not be entirely evil.

With the eradication of Sin comes grain enough for croissant and flute whilst my newly ordained oyster beds yeild up the fruits of the sea. Upon completion the N1 shall provide a rapid means of transportation for these foodstuffs to all of my flock.

Poverty, purity and self-denial are the road upon which we must travel but be of good heart for I am now here to guide you!

St Jon, Proxy for St Denis.

                  And you did WHAT????!

You have let doves out with our map to everybody? Are you crazy???.

                  Mom said that?!

Mom also said I was a foolish man, loosing too much money and gaining too much weight at our blacksmith? When have she looked in a mirror herself lately.

                  Oh my Gods!"

"Easy dad - I have manipulated with the maps. Those who see it has to answer positive - else they will not be able to read the map".

                  "Hmmmmppppffff"

"Believe me - it's the truth."

"Maybe I should belive - but I do not.

Have anyone any news about this french knight, this socalled duke or saint?

He better answer in public soon - else I'm going to break that village down to rubbles and firewood and sell the citizens to some slavers. He has to offer something - unless my old friend have had a totally blackout ----- ha-ha-ha Did you get that boy: Totally blackuot - a blacksmith with a totally blackout... ha-ha-ha.....

Ohhhh.... Now I need something to clear my mind.

                            • Sorry Guy's,

I have trashed my system by installing XP. CtP will just not run, neither will most of my other software, correctly and until I have done a complete system reinstall there is nothing I can do.

I will try and get a Sub in for the French to cover for the next few days, sorry but I work anti-social hours, until I can do the evil deed.

                              Apologies again,
                              Jon.
