Unfortunately we lost Demosthenes (see the thread "those who play with Demosthenes). I already asked for a replacement (see the thread "replacement needed in fast game").

I suggest we wait for a couple of days to see whether a replacement comes up. This would also suit quinns who is away untill saturday.

Blackice, I leave the final decision to you. Perhaps you even know someone that can take over from Demosthenes?

I warned the Irish to stop trespassing (which they promised but did not do) also the Mongols started trespassing and even build a city in our land. Our intelligence learned us that there is a secret treaty between these two nations. So I decided to take hostage the citizens of one of the Mongol cities until the Mongols and Irish stop trespassing.

I never agreed to removing my explorer. Last time I checked I requested passage through your lands. I don't want trouble, but it does seem that you are sitting in between two great nation that are ment to be one great civilation. So, I would be greatful it you would grant me passage. If you would like you can escourt me through but an betrail will be considered a hostile attack.

I received some worrying smokesignals from my friend Darth Viper. It appears that two nations are trying to pulverise his small kingdom. They do not keep their promises, travel through his lands as if it is their own and even settle on his territory.

Irish and Mongol nations, be aware that the Egyptian nation will assist our Greek friends in their struggle to survive and won't accept them to be sandwiched by you without a fight. We also call upon the Welsh and Scottish nations to stop the agressive acts of these Barbarious nations.

Darth Viper, I noticed from your post that you took some hostages. We are badly in need of slaves to build my Pyraice (the alternative of Pyramids that we discovered). Perhaps we could set these hostages to work until the Irish and Mongol nations come to their senses and accept that respect of other nations territory is a prerequisite for peace?

Dear Greek and Egyptian leaders,

There was NEVER any agreement to any borders between Greece and Mongolia. Everyone knows that whoever SETTLES a region owns that region. Apparently, Greece decided to take a slight misunderstanding from the Irish, and a Mongol settlement in neutral territory, (approximately 15 tiles from the nearest Greek city), enough grounds to violate a peace treaty and destroy a defenseless town. If it is war you obviously want, war you will have. Prepare to die!

Welsh News

Transition of power to the new Welsh Leader took place today as Nuke Boy took the oath of office. Nuke Boy was elected primarily on his promises to improve military readiness and rid his country of foreign invaders. Nuke Boy reminded the Greeks his country does not look highly upon trespassers and called upon them to withdraw their troops forthwith.

We congratulate you with your new position. It looks like the Welsh now have a wise leader who, countrary to what his name implies :-), is aware of the rules of peace and supports them.

As for the Mongols. If this all really is a misunderstanding I, pharao of Egypt, expect the Irish and Mongols to leave Greek territority immediately. I am sure Darth Viper is not out for war and as soon as we have his confirmation that the Irish are left we will use our influence with him to release the hostages.

And as far as the preparation for death is concerned. We know for a long time now that the day will come that we have to die. That is exactly why I started to build my pyraice. We are sure however that my death will not come by Mongol hand. :-):-):-)

Me, Darth Viper of the Greek is not in for war at all. Understanding from you that it was all a misunderstanding we expect the Irish army to leave our territory immediately. To show our good will I already set the hostages free and gave them horses to return to your country. However, my scouts report me that the hostages are not riding in your direction at all. Asking them why, their answer was they preferred to stay in our country.

As for the borders we propose the border with the Irish to be the land where the two seas are nearest to each other. We propose a generous offer to the Mongols to define the border exactly at the place where we took the hostages. To make sure that this border is accepted by you we will soon settle a border town in that same spot.

It will be clear to all nations and I hereby ask them their support that if the Irish army does not leave our country we will not only destroy it but also feel forced to take new hostages.

We wish you a good live, even though it may be a short one.
