To the leaders of this world.

I fear a great disaster is upon us. I ended my turn and the following happened:

    1) A noise unlike any I have heard from this game; very loud, very frieghtening.

    2) The pollution messageicon appeared followed by a bunch of skull icons.

    3) The city of Tula, which was centered on the screen, appeared to vanish. I could not tell for certain as the save bar flashed over it as the end of turn completed.

Perhaps it is well that APQS2 will be starting soon. All but four of my cities were island or coastal, and I do not look forward to opening my next turn.

    Turn 217 to Slamp

      Fellow Polluters.

Whilst I have escaped with my Captol, and therefore any Barbarians, I have lost countless cities and in two Turns will be bankrupt. It looks like just about every wonder in the world has been destroyed and from being a continental landmass I am now an island group!

Never ever have I witnessed something as bad as this!

        Swissy you're right it's a big deasaster:
I lost 12 cities because of flood and 22 cities to Barbarians The 12 cities were major one with wonders and good production. So I lost a lot of gold and cities revolted

I have in fact only 3 cities left...
I'm on vacation next week so put me on AI. I think AI will be enougth intelligent to manage 3 cities.

Is it me, or is MOBIUS a horrible person?

It gets worse here to. The Barbarians paratrooped over to my island and took one city(retaken(n and destryoing another. I cannot afford to go to war. Seeing how aggressive these Barbarians are, I think Slamp may not have a civ to come back to.

This game is quite interesting! Someone nukes someone's entire nation because they stole some advance off
the internet (pretty serious offense! ) ... now nuclear winter rears it's ugly head to possibly destroy the whole earth! Quite educational."

                      ...

Maybe the nuke attacks started it, then the pollution from factories, gov type, and population accelerated it. Just my two cents worth.

Mobius you sick puppy! You want to see the death and destruction of an entire world ... yeah you're right... that would be cool... send me a copy too if you please!

                        Resent

Quinns, I'll send you a copy of a turn. You'll need Slamps 10 settler Quick Start for the Apolyton Pak, and of course the Apolyton Pak itself, installed to open the file. The turns will be my Slamps turn before the disater and his turn after the disater, for comparison.

As far as the effects and cause of pollution, I have found CD mods to put more severity into the effects of pollution. My typical game has me racing to get communism so I out produce my opponent(AI or Human). The first time I tried that in an Apolyton Pak game, against AI, I found myself getting severe pollution effects very rapidly. I was use to seeing my cities produce about 30 units of pollution under communism. In the Apolyton Pak game, I was putting out over 70 units and my cities were not as large as I usually get them in an unmodified game.

                          Turn to Don.

                          And things still get worse!

Bombarded from space! How come the Barbarians have got Space Bombers?

Never again will I under-estimate the value of a Recycling Centre.

                                Turn 220 to Don.

                                Disaster heaped upon disaster!

Barbarians with War Walkers and Space Bombers attacking Cities garrisoned by Machine Gunners!

This is almost biblical in scale! Fire, Flood, Famine have all happened so when am I going to be hit by the Barbarian Infectors to complete the set with a good dose of Pestilence as well?
