  • It's all Greek to me - 4 turn play

Here's the deal. Considering last turn chat we didn't come across any foreign civs, I decided to not hold a turn chat this week (because it would be pointless and a waste of everyone's time. I estimated we'd get through 5 turns max before we reached a foreign civ). Using instructions recieved during the week, I went forward on my own accord, getting through a meagre 4 turns. Here's what happened:
    • Built Phalanx: 2 turns. Order to Fortify Turn 3, finished fortification turn 4.
    • Went through ruin: Discovered Hullmaking (turn 1)
    • Moved the settler to building location: 4 turns. Settler discovers pearls in close proximity to the future city site.(turn 4) DID NOT BUILD (not enough turns)
    • Moved 1st Atlantian Warrior Battalion North through swamps. Came into contact with the Greeks (turn 4)
    • Changed build item to settler

Questions to Ministers for future turns (feel free to poll any of the below):

    To Quinns (Minister of Defence)
Q1) What do we do with the 1st Atlantian Warrior Battalion?
    A1) ???

Q2) Do we keep our phalanx fortified?
    A2) ???

To Nimrod (Minister of Domestic Affairs)
Q3) When we settle Te Moana (name of city 2), do we manufacture pearls or beaver?
    A3) ???

Q4) Can you give me a brief outline of where you want our next city? (Name to be decided)
    A4) ???

Q5) Do we alter our science goal considering we have discovered hullmaking?
    A5) ???

To Locutus (Minister of Infrastructure and Foreign Affairs)
Q6) What will our immediate stance to the Greeks be?
    A6) ???

Q7) Do we alter the PW rate?
    A7) ???

Some more information which may be of use:

When I moved the warrior north, I saw a greek settler. The turn ended, and the Greeks settled Corinth. That is when the game was ended.

Work the pearl. It will offer more gold and the forest we are settling on should provide us with enough production at the start.

Leave science alone, we must get to theocracy.

Hey Quinns, do you think it wise to lower our readiness to save on gold and production?

I advise to leave the readiness on full. The production saving is minimal on lower settings. Leaving readiness at full strength dissuades attacks by foreign units, and if attacked by barbarians or other the unit has a very good chance of surviving if in defensible terrain.

And Frozzy, please start moving that warrior back in the direction of the capitol -- to explore in other directions while acting as an escort and possible additional defender to our now well stretched out cities ... (Yellow... )

Quinns, do you want to have the warrior scratch his ass in Greek territory, and then they'll be moved back with the non-trespassing treaty? Or do you think our regard would suffer?

Doesn't any body just want to hammer Corinth .

We are in no position to fight a war. All that will do is weaken our position. Move the warrior back towards the capitol.
