The Altera Centauri collection has been brought up to date by Darsnan. It comprises every decent scenario he's been able to find anywhere on the web, going back over 20 years.

In my mind it doesn't do any difference if we settle here, one tile East, one tile South-East, or one tile South-West, everywhere same tile types available: Forest only. And everywhere we get the same number of river tiles, in particular 6 river tiles, so the only advantage of moving is discovering a good.
Quickbeam3, we only added to the standart game the awesome AIPs, so everything we can do in the standart game we can do here, too.
quinns has the idea, the 0.5 move point should be used to check for goods(like Beaver commonly found in forests). one move east and end turn, on turn 2 settle.

Martin Gühmann why do you assume everywhere is forest. One more tile may get us close enough to a sea coast or hills or mountains. It may just be forest but it wont go on forever and one more turn wont hurt us too much.
