  • Finalization game settings

    It turns out we're rather divided on what the map/game settings should be. But the polls have been open for about 10 days now, so it's about time to do some decision making. I've taken the median of the values in the poll and posted them below (unless there was an absolute majority for one option, in which case I simply took that option). Please vote if the settings that I proposed here acceptable for this DG or not. If these settings are accepted by at least 50% of the voters, these will be the settings that we will play with.

    Difficulty: Deity
    Barbarians: Raging Hordes
    Map size: Gigantic
    Bloodlust: OFF
    Pollution: ON

    Land/Ocean: Ocean +1
    Good Count: Many Goods +5
    Continents: Continent +1
    Temperature: Warm/Cold +0
    Diversity: Uniform/Diverse +0
    Humidity: Dry/Wet +0

    Three issues remain open: what mod to use (does this require further discussion or can we start a poll about this?), the number of civs to use, and the type of map (earth/donut) to play on (this is a tie so more voters are needed!). These issues will have to be decided seperately.

    I think we should start a poll now as for mods...

      The settings sound good, for the mods I suggest to go through the directory and collect there the options. Here are all the options I found with I think changes that are worth to be considered, every option at least got three stars in the directory:

      1. Apolyton Pack
      2. Apolyton Pack + Awesome Aips 1.0 (Pack)
      3. Apolyton Pack + New Trade Goods v1.4 (Apolyton Pack)
      4. Apolyton Pack + New Trade Goods v1.4 (Apolyton Pack) + Awesome Aips 1.0 (Pack)
      5. Celestial Dawn's Mod v4.22
      6. Celestial Dawn's Mod v4.22 + Awesome Aips 1.0 (CD's mod)
      7. New Trade Goods v1.4 (Non-CD Version) (Looks like the stand alone version, unfortunatly I didn't find the CD-Version)
      8. Harlan's Graphic Mod 1.0
      9. Medieval Mod 4
      10. Awesome Aips 1.0 (Original)(Looks like the stand alone version of the Awesome Aips)
      11. No mods
      12. Abstain

      So I posted the poll here.

      Of course not necessary to say that we all play with the Hack Patch.

        Looks good but what about just the hack the apolyton pack and the med mod. The med mod has most stuff in it and it saves on us all having to download lots of new mods.

          Quickbeam I posted above 11 options for a poll we can't use them all at the same time. The poll is ready to post I just removed option number 7 as that option has less than three stars, option #8 became #7 and so on the above post is already edited in order to reflect this. Finally we can end up with using one mod plus two add ons or just one mod.

            In order to play med mod i think you need the hack. You might also need the apolyton pack. So if i vote for med mod does that mean i automaticly vote for the otherthings needed to make it work.

                In order to play any mod here you just need the second official patch. But I don't recommend playing CTP1 without the hack patch, irrespective of the mod we are using. Actual I had huge problems with reloading savegames in the unmodded game and without the second patch and without the hack patch.

                To play MedMod you just need the files by Wes provided on his homepage , nothing more nothing less, otherwise it would be stated on his homepage or in the directory. So if you vote for MedMod and a majority votes for Medmod too then (I hope) we agree that we play Medmod. The result would be that everyone has to install Medmod who wishes to be the president or just want to have a look on the savegames.

                    mods: on the mod thread we got most votes for medmod
