I vote MedMod. Best AI, best gameplay.

Mods to me are like Chess or Poker variants -- only a select small group play the variants but the majority of people play using the original rules.
For MP games that may be true, but I hardly know anyone in the CtP2 community who plays that game unmodded. For CtP1, it's hard to say since most people just/mostly play MP these days, but 2 years ago when the SP community was still very much alive, many people here would have laughed at a comment like that...

After I read, that this game will be "played" as a SP-game, I vote for the MedMod 4.13 (remember to correct the little problem with Constitutional Monarchy).

I also place my vote strongly on Med Mod based on the fact that ever since i found out about the Apolyton site and DLed the Med Mod i have always used it to play SP!

I vote for med mod it has lots of extras and has great units the timescale is also better unmodded there is too much future stuff and not enough past.

Okay. I thought we were not playing single player against the a/i alone, but two separate civilizations each controlled by humans, hence my vote for no mods. I forgot that there are many SP players participating in this democratic game. But as the concensus is playing single player, I agree -- make the a/i as good as you can. Like many said, the a/i is not very good in single player mode -- unmodded.

I made the same "mistake" Steve.

I also believed we had two governments controlling each nation/alliance/pagt and the game therefore would be a sort of a PBEM game. But that will have to wait for the next game as far as I can see.

Whatever happens, have Harlan's mod. I can't see any problem with that.

Why did we not just have a plain old vote on the mod? Or did we?
If it ain't broke, find a bigger hammer.

Because I wanted to know what is out there without browsing the APOlyton directory and not a poll, yet. So that I can include all possible options.

So far I only have the options I had already at the start of this thread:

                      Med Mod
                      Nordicus Alternative Trade Goods
And my Small City Mod 2 add on that actual needs a small update.
And of course the dafault unmodded game
If noone posts more possible options then it will be this list, about we can vote.

I can accept those choices - I have played the 5 first choices several times.

you actually have a "list of evoluation" with the first 4 choices, meaning Harlan or CD (Celestial Dawn) have something and Apolyton Pack most of the two first plus a lot more.

Nordicus (Thomas) have something completely different.

And WesW MedMod has most from all mods.

Now we go a little bit into the detail, that was actual the kind of information I wanted to get here. I got internet access in the year 2000 and actual played CTP1 again in the summer so that I only downloaded Harlans mod pack and played a little bit around with the city styles and with the colors00.txt. Then I got Fallout then Fallout2, Outcast, Diablo and finally I bought in December 2000 CTP2. Therefore I don't have to much experience with other CTP1 mods.

So I wait until the end of the week to start the poll so that it is possible for everyone else to give some input here.

Wes' MedMod is a whole different animal to CtP 1.2

It has a completly different tech-tree, new units and govenments...

                            Basically, its CtP v. 2

I downloaded Med Mod 4. How do I run it? Can someone point me to a link that shows how to install it? I would be most grateful.

Quinns, AFAIK there is no installation guide. You need to copy and paste the FILES (not the folders) into the correct folders.

However, I suggest you install CtP v1.2 again so you can still PBEM and Single Play
