  • Turn 103 - 325 BC

Worker in AB begins cottage. Worker from Lima en route to help with cottages.

Chariot ready in FS. Considering the situation we should build more troops. Axe? Horse Archer if we get HBR?

    Axe near FS moved 3 - 3.

Workers nears EC should continue with road.

Spear in Foxtrot moved 3 - 1. Perhaps Foxtrot should switch from Granary to building more troops.

    Horde stack moved 3.

Ok, somethings not adding up here.

Sarantium did not drop in power despite the Horde claiming they suffered losses.

Indeed... in fact they both have made slight gains in power.

Seems odd to me that our stack is being moved towards a city that would supposedly need reinforcing.

well we feel the time to strike is now, not allowing them to see any troops coming up, not allowing their troops in the south to regroup and march into reinforce ocala
And, in the larger picture, worth doing so. This[ocala] is Sarantium's troop center.
Or maybe its the ''kill team merc'' center. That city isnt optimum for maximum troop production. All it has is a horse resource and its not on a plains hill(+1 hammer) but instead a grass hill, only giving a defence bonus. I suggest we swing north towards port tiberium or east towards the capitol and see if they have any cities lightly defended. Now if get them to believe the horde ordered us to make those north\east moves, we could make them think the horde was betraying them instead

In the older pages of this forum, i noticed a thread detailing the past treacheries of team Horde. Maybe this would be a good time to remember that...

But what can we really do? If they hired the troops we have to follow their move orders...

I think we should send the Horde the screen shot and strongly urge them to try a different target. But.. if we're being double crossed, what can we do?

The contract said they would pay us, which they havnt done. So we are not obliged to atack that city in any way.

And if payment does not come next turn that is true.

If HBR does come, we have to attack.

Or maybe its the ''kill team merc'' center. That city isnt optimum for maximum troop production.
But, if they lose that city, they have NO strategic resources. They've lost the iron, have no copper, and only this pony.

Use the combat sim to determine the best order of attack, that's about the best we can do IMO. The Horde should have gotten a screen of the Sarantine units already.

The idea was that we needed to wait to be paid by both Sarantium and the Horde in order to have anything worth researching, and also to support a possible war with both the Horde and Sarantium. However, with our treasury now at 367G, I think it might be time to re-evaluate this policy.

HBR was received this turn. As far as I know the Horde still owes us Sailing for the sacking of the first Foxtrot. This now allows us to upgrade our chariots within our borders to Horse Archers for 95G each.

I believe Sarantium is to provide us Mathematics once we are able to declare a cease fire with them.

Research situation now stands as follows:

                  40%=+2G, 50%=-3G, 60%=-6G, 70%= -10G, 80%=-15G

We have the following options for research (research durations indicated at 50% and 70% respectively):

                  Polytheism: 6, 5
                  Priesthood: 4, 3
                  Drama: 18, 13
                  Sailing: 6, 5
                  Mathematics: 15, 11
                  Machinery: 41, 31

I have placed Priesthood in the research queue at a rate of 70% for the moment since it leads to Monarchy and Code of Laws, both which we could use.

New chariot is ready in FS. I have placed a Horse Archer in queue, it is ready in 2. I switched Foxtrot away from the granary and placed another Horse Archer in queue, it is ready in 5.

                  Is this to everyone's liking?

Horde stack moved onto grass/road tile adjacent to Ocala. Wounded chariot uses extra movement to heal a bit.

Axe near Foxtrot moved 3-3 again. Spear near Foxtrot moved 2. New chariot in FS moved to Foxtrot.

No signs yet of troops approaching from the south, although a Horde scout is uncovered by our Spear. I suppose I should let them know that the unit is non-aggressive and not being used to gather info for Sarantium...

Worker en route to AB joins worker building cottage, together they will have it ready next turn, just in time for AB growth to 5.

Workers building road to EC complete another road tile.

                    Research:

IF Sarantium does not provide us Math, we need to research it with all speed.
                    Cats are all important.

IF Sarantium DOES provide us with Math. We should consider something up along that tree. Whatever for the great library, whatever to enable theaters to claim land, etc.

That said, I think poly might be a pre-req for the theater tech (sorry terrible with names of things), and worthy to look at.

The theater tech is Drama, and it looks like we can already invent it.

Drama would lead to philosophy which would be important in the event we are not being dogpiled.

Maybe we should just start researching math now at the risk of wasting some beakers.

Poly's a pre-req to Lit then? In case we want to take a stab at great engineering that sucker.
