  • Accept Sarantium Contract?

And, to a more standard Mercenary contract, we would like to hire the stack of two axemen and a spear that were recently engaged down south, along with an additional spearman. We would like the contract to start at the end of your 10 turn peace deal with The Horde, and we would like to take possession of the units close to their current location - if that is possible. Our understanding from the pricing thread is that rental of four 35 hammer units would be 17.5 times 4 equals 70 gold.
First military contract offered to us:

2 spear, 2 axe. Need to move 1 spear southward to accomidate.

    Shall we accept?

I believe we are obligated to accept this. It came in first, it is according to our standard pricing, no downside.

Can't we theoretically hire out units to both teams?

EDIT: I realize that we are rather limited on units at the moment...

Yes, certainly. This isn't an either or poll, just 2 seperate contracts each to be judged on their own.

But this one came in first, so we should fill it first, IMO. Only way to remain neutral.

Yes, I agree, and hopefully the Horde will understand. They did approach us but have not yet given a detailed contract.

When they say "take possession," they don't mean we are gifting them to Sarantium for the duration of the contract, do they?

No, that would be impossible as you can only gift inside their border. They just mean that's where the units are to be delivered.

But the Horde has given us a very detailed contract. Pricing and all. Only thing left is specific tile they want the units delivered to, which we don't really have here either. And there is a little vaguery that they want an option to extend the contract beyond 10 turns. Given the price they're paying, though, that's fair. But there is a thread for that.

Seems fair enough. I think we could just send down the spear we have out by UnO's proposed City #5?

Sorry, missed the Horde contract thread. Going to review that now...

I would say yes. Make sure we deliver on Sarantium's contract first, and quickly build whatever units we still need to fulfill the Horde's contract.

That would be the plan, yes.
