Masonry sounds like a good idea, so we can build the Hanging Gardens faster. I think it's our best bet for a wonder, and I think the health bonus is a better bonus for our team.Join a Democracy Game today!

We get masonry from the Horde as soon as we get Alphabet from Sarantium (2 turns or so)
The Horde is also supposed to be working on Sailing.
We could research Archery for the 2 turns we're waiting for trades to catch up, or we can spend those 2 turns working towards something else. HBR being a prime candidate in that regaurd. Machinery is sitting at 30 turns, but I think we should be prepared to go after Literature as soon as trades catch up with us. (Sarantium is supposed to do Math)
The alternate is to see if the Horde has started Sailing yet. If not, we could research that ourself and have them supply archery. One who has a surplus of the unorthodox shall attain surpassing victories. - Sun Pin

Actually, looks like we get archery from Sarantium too. They say trades won't start till 'turn after next'. I'm not entirely sure, but I think that means they will send the trade after we play next turn, so we'll see it the turn after that.
Anyway, of the available research, only horseback riding and Machinery are truly 'available' as the rest are coming in trade.
I'm not a big fan of HBR this early, personally, but it does make sense in the trading dept, and Machinery is a huge 30+ turn dedication.
I strongly recommend we switch to 0 research to stockpile gold to run at a deficit once trades catch up. We don't lose anything this way, and buy time to get a better team vote on the issue.
I won't be able to play this turn till late tonight, and at some inconvenience at that. Can one of you guys get to it?One who has a surplus of the unorthodox shall attain surpassing victories. - Sun Pin

Thanks snoopy.
Security doesn't seem like it should be an issue, this is our private forum, and the files are stored by post # which would be very difficult to guess.
I haven't gotten any messages yet, and judging from the surveypoint.com message archive, it hasn't even arrived there at the mailing list address. Not sure what's up, hopefully just a delay in e-mail to surveypoint.
So, who'll play the turn? I can, but I've fallen out of the loop the past few turns, I'll need to spend some time getting back in first - looks like we have some new deals going on a turnplayer should be aware of. If someone else can get to it first, go for it; otherwise I'll post when I'm actually ready to play.
