Sounds fun! Haven't played around with Warlords too much. Probably won't be too much of a hinderance I expect. Course I can always do some homework.

So, ye pirates, any thoughts on civ selection?

      From a roleplay perspective:

      England
      USA
      France
      Spain
      Vikings
      China

I think are the ones historically piratical in nature. (vikings could be argued as being piratical, others have famous pirates or hired privateers)

      Trait wise...

      Financial
      Charismatic
      Aggressive

Seem to be the leading candidates IMO when I think 'pirate'. But you could make the argument for protective (hiding treasure) or Imperialistic (great generals/captains)

      So, that leaves:

      Ragnar Fin/Agg
      Victoria Fin/Imp
      Churchill Cha/Pro
The ones that have 2 traits and one of the civs

Leaders with just 2 of the traits.

      Wang Kon Fin/Pro
      Hannibal Fin/Cha
      Cyrus imp/Cha
      Ghengis Imp/Agg
      Tokugawa Agg/Pro

One could make a real argument for Carthage there too...

Like a dummy I realized I had sold my copy of warlords many months ago when I tried to play some to dust of my -ahem- skills... So my input shall be negligble until I get ahold of another copy.

        Nonetheless...

Rognar sounds nice to me. From a strictly "terror of the seas" perspective.

Not everyone in here may be joining the Pirates, so you guys might want to discuss elsewhere...

Doesn't make too much difference I suppose, as long as it's something the pirates are willing to discuss on an open forum.

Ahem... these guys do read... but these guys didn't want to admit having sold warlords on quite such an open forum... ahem.
