I would say a mini map exchange is ok, but if we can not tell them the cap location with out offending them then I would avoid telling them that, the mini map should be close enough.

I don't know if it matters anymore - but let's be cautious and not exchange yet.

EDIT: Guess I was a little late on this. Did I say that I liked the exchange of minimaps?

get as much knowledge as possible from early exploration - this should include trading minimaps. i also guess that AC has bigger problems than team banana coming for them. it would be fun to learn that they are situated between us and one of the warmonger factions...

well if that's the case, we should be as close to them as possible with out getting drawn into their war, and hope that they'll dump anything they can give before/if they get beaten. we should make sure we can trade techs as early as possible so maybe they will give them to us before/if they get beat. If it comes down to it, we should help prolong their existence and aid them in anyway possible so they last until the tech trade, and they will be very trusting of us later on. We should maybe even try and get into a position to sell them military units.

I think AC would tell us right away when they are at war, to get the support of units

Trading , selling techs is always a good thing

should we ask them to coordinate research of techs?
I think this would help firm any relationship

I know I have been AWOL, so please forgive the question. Did we ever decide on an overall strategy and goal? Our decisions need to be based on that.

Are we peace loving people looking to spread the spread the serene ways of the cavendish?

Are we proud warriors looking to wack infidals up-side the head with our battle banana?

Are we mad scientists looking to crack the Musa genome?

If we don't have an overall strategy, we should find one now, and stick to it. All options should be compared to this strategy.

That said. I don't see a problem in starting tech trade/co-ordination discussions with AC.
