When I played with Babylon we had a very similar format, except that the turn player would post a Turn X thread prior to the turn being played.

In this thread the player would post upcoming issues and we'd discuss the topics. If there were BIG issues new threads would be started and linked to. The turn player would also update the thread with details of the turn once played as suggested above.

Just an idea.

Did we ever decide on a civ?

I like the format Daddy-o suggested.

Should we try for the build settler on the first turn strategy? Is a bit risky of course, but the potential benefits are tempting.
