We'd be honoured to call ourselves friends of such mighty warriors and meet each other in arena to hone our skills. We'd also like to hear the stories about Horde warriors retold from your own viewpoint (i.e. how it's been going since).
We hope your wars are going well and your thirst for blood is satisfied since we do not intend to wage war, but instead to flourish in trade.

Long have we heard rumours of the Centaurian Nation. Long stories told over cold ales by seasoned world wanderers...tales of a great nation at the other end of the Earth! Equally long, The Horde has been hopeful of extending the hand of friendship.

Sitting by a fire on the open steppes, we often tell the stories of the mighty warriors of The Horde Guard. Ours has been a history of blood and struggle. A fitting thing, for our people are a indeed a warrior folk!

Yet, The Horde has turned from war these last years and have set its sights on building a nation that will be the envy of the continent! In this quest, we welcome our guest, and desire to build the foundation of a lasting relationship!

I fear our history is a little longer to tell than theirs

Aye the people of Horde!

The tale of Centaurians has been no less interesting.
We set out initially to build, as you say, a nation that would be an envy to our continent, but the Fortune turned against us as we had to contend with strange and unreliable neighbors that worshiped a yellow fruit of sorts.
You see, we don't like when in a trade, a word is given and then later broken, neither we like that someone settles right next to the land we perceive as ours as to attempt to negotiate more land for himself.
So, as the saying goes
Thus, though we have heard of stupid haste in war, cleverness has never been seen associated with long delays.
..and the crossbow was drawn and war was started and soon brought to an end.

It came to pass that the ruler of Voice, a city on the far corner of our continent had indeed a loud voice and he made quite a few remarks about us which we didn't like.
However, since it was so far and already had gathered much storm around it, we paid little heed until one day a messenger bore news that we were now at war with those strange people.
Not long after that our brave warriors found a refugee camp in steppe, set up by that same boasting ruler and took a lot of gold and slaves in loot.

Peace now engulfed our continent, but the restless people who call themselves "gatherers of storm" pulled our arm once more by delaying their part of a big deal for what seemed to be eternity and then claiming that some of the territory that had been previously agreed to be ours is now theirs.
What could we do - we're both proud and strong enough to not let such arrogance get away unpunished, so the crossbows were produced again and the trumpet of war blown.

So, as you see, our history is full of betrayals and revenges and we are very wary of such things happening again.
However, we would like to start exchange of information (tech trade) with you and see whether we can work towards a better future together.

We can propose them a tech trade for their cash. The cheapest techs to trade would be Meditation and Polyteism, none of which they are likely to want, others include Calendar, Currency, Machinery, Alphabet. Horde has ~180g for trade.

Your people seek knowledge of the History of Alpha Centauri and we are happy to accommodate and would much appreciate hearing the tale of your lands.

You see we first meet people who worshiped a fruit. We tried to come to an agreement on our borders but our overtures were rebuffed as the Bananas said they preferred a free for all land grab. Soon we found settlers entering the land we perceive as ours attempting to encroach on us. Fortunately the discovery of the crossbow allowed us to rectify the problem and then some.

In more distant lands we meet the people who Gather Storm and leaned they had been in their own bitter struggle with their neighbors the people with loud voices. Centuries of warfare had brought the Voice low and their demise seemed imminent. When we found opportunity to trade our knowledge with the Stormians and refused the Vox pleases to join the war on their side we found the Voice had arrogantly declared war on us as well. Not long after we happened upon the last refuge of the Vox as they fled before the Storm and we mercifully ended their flight.

Peace now engulfed our continent and fruitful trade and cooperation began with the Stormians, delaying their part of a deal for what seemed to be eternity and then again encroaching upon territory under negotiation, attempting to seize it rather then settle it by civilized means.

We understand your nation has a modest sum of treasure that could be used to purchase such techs as Meditation and Polytheism, Calendar, Currency and Alphabet. Of course we would negotiate cost for each tech individually and if enough funds can be raised valuable military techs would be available.

In the paragraph about GS, we have 1 long sentence that's like:

"Now we had peace, reasons for war" then one paragraph below "so we went to war".

I think it's very unlogical What about this re-ordering:

I like your reordering.

We should add this:

1. technology trades will be based on beakers with equality being the goal.
2. each of the civs agrees not to retrade any technology acquired in trade from one of the others; without prior agreement of the researching nation.
3. trades arranged are kept even if a tech to be traded for is acquired by other means.

We need to check what we sell them for their cash but it's likely we'll need to make a discount. Techs we can sell are:

Alphabet, Currency, Calendar, Priesthood, Meditation, Machinery (IIRC).
I think the latter 3 are out of question (don't think they need either of Priesthood and Meditation and we don't want to sell Machinery).

3. Arranged trades are kept even if a tech to be traded for is acquired by other means.
