Also, after the turnchat, there was a discussion between bt and nestor about where to continue the road. Either NE onto the hill (bt) or SE into the dessert (nestor).

The distance to the banana capital is equal, both will connect to copper resource if it is roaded.
The hill will give us a bigger view over the western part of banana-territory.
The dessert will give us the road one turn earlier.

I assume there's nothing they can throw at us which could kill even a lone unit. So why not send it ahead as a scout? That way, if we encounter yet another lone Banana unit and we want to kill it, we don't need to delay the entire stack.

haha, that picture in post #4 is so beautiful

I remember back when the team started super-tentative long range plans to do this, nice to see it in action I havnt looked at the save, but if all they have is warriors hidding in the fog GG bananas. The pictures and intel looks pretty conclusive. Im reading up on the past few turns
if you want to stop terrorism; stop participating in it

''Oh,Commissar,if we could put the potatoes in one pile, they would reach the foot of God''.But,replied the commissar,''This is the Soviet Union. There is no God''.''Thats all right'' said the worker,''There are no potatoes''

Check the plan I posted, with both workers we can get the remaining three units on the hill at the same time as the leading one.

Also, Sending one unit (I used an axe, but a chuko can do it as well) to the hill gives us the extra sight benefit of sending a worker, while not being as risky.

Roading the desert isn't as risky, as we can move the warrior back if we see something. There's only one tile from where they could capture it back, but it's higly unlikely they'll have a unit there (the tile 8 of their 3rd city)

            Declaration of War is posted,
Companions the creator seeks, not corpses, not herds and believers. Fellow creators, the creator seeks - those who write new values on new tablets. Companions the creator seeks, and fellow harvesters; for everything about him is ripe for the harvest. - Thus spoke Zarathustra, Fredrick Nietzsche

N35t0r has his right here, I think we should build in desert.
One thing Im not sure about is, can we build in enemy's territory.

              Indeed.

              Let's see...
Yes, this calculation is correct, it's just I assumed next turn as N+1, whereas you took it as N+0

We can, when we were discussing it with PJay we came upon that doubt and i fired a new game to test it.

Hi everbody, just dropping in to say hi I'm still around lurking.

Pretty exciting stuff going on, well played guys! I'm curious to see what the response of GS is going to be. I guess they will have no choice but to reluctantly accept our invasion and get on with Vox. Sounds like a promising middle-game for us. And as always, it will be fun to see the tactics of the war with the Bananas.

Still, 7 to 8 turns ... Sheesh. I seem to remember capturing more than 10 Morgan bases in 1 turn of Golden Dawn

Well, this is not SMAC after all buddy, you can't just move in and capture stuff, unless you have commandos promotion of course, and this is still early game, remember, not like turn 2150+ in SMAC. .

And nice to see you here

                      1. CHOP
                      2. DROP

If only it were that easy

                        Indeed.

But this attack of ours might be called like drop and chop as we dropped on unsuspecting Bananas and chopped them to pieces, well at least the first warrior

if banana has archery next turn, is it possible to check if they researched it or got it from gs as a gift?

                              No.

I thought we could send GS a message which would contain lines like "It is very honorable of you to not have just gifted Archery to nanas..", but it isn't likely to change anything.

The public messages from GS seem to hint they are supporting our move (especially Blake):

                                Krill
Somehow I think a team that built 3 wonders won't have an awful lot dedicated to military as well.

                                Hot Mustard
Perhaps, but I think what units they do have are top-notch.

                                Blake
Pffft lame, if AC were real villains they'd have got you to build the "trade route" to them.

                                Blake (again)
Hey neat Banana have their very own Iraqi Information Minister
I think they won't help banana. Ofcourse, it would be a very strange coincidence if banana finished archery research next turn.

It's also weird they didn't surrender yet...
