  • A very urgent poll!

So, basically we need one thing to decide this turn:
Do we attempt to get Library out of everyones hands?

    Why this is important:

Because if the answer is YEA, we need to switch research to Literature and prepare the ground accordingly. This also means, we'd be getting Currency 8 turns later, with the corresponding effects on our economy, as well as very possibly not getting a religion from CoL.

    The options include in themselves:

    A.
    - switching to Literature, delayed Currency and CoL
    - preparing for building 2 wonders (Lighthouse and Library) in Beijing
    - spreading Yangism to Beijing asap (which lessens our commitment to military builds as we need to build a missionary in Xian) and converting to that religion

    B.
    - keeping on researching Currency
    - in 5 turns deciding if we want GL right now, or if it needs be postponed a little to boost military for a swifter victory
    - postponing the decision to spread of Yangism and conversion to it, until we are confident about our military situation or it spreads itself.

    In short.
A is the 'risk' chance attempting to grab another wonder before everyones' eyes at the expense of risking to stall in a war against Bananas and/or less commerce for some turns.

B is the 'safe' chance concentrating on a single task at a time - defeating the Bananas. We might build GL during the war, but if the situation turns out for worse either militarily or economically, we have some reserve.

Think twice and vote or discuss/ask for more info if not sure.

P.S - this needs be decided ASAP!

I think we will be able to do the library rush and peel the bananas. If we also want to harm GS or help Vox, we'll need help from Beijing.

The most tricky part of the rush scheme is probably spreading Yangism to Beijing.

Why do you think it's tricky?
A missionary can be produced in Xian in 2-3 turns (which of course implies it not building military for that amount of time).

Because for our war we counted on xian and tassagrad only, so changing production in Beijing won't interfere, but changing production in Xian will.

How soon do you think we would need Yangism in Beijing? Starting a missionary after the next chuk, would that be enough ?

          B

great library is not worth the risks for me

Better put everything one one goal and reaching it, then trying two goals, and failing both

            Yes, it's in the plan.

Strangely enough, seeing how two people have voted B by posting, the poll should read like 1:2, but it reads just the opposite..

A - Greed is good and its gotten us in the lead already, our war plan depends only on units for Tassagrad and Xian and we have yet to see Nanas get Archery. Should they still lack it next turn we can safely commit Bejing to non military production without endangering the war at all.

I voted A. Because you don't win by not taking risks.

I voted A too, because I don't think we'll need Beijing for military build up. Also, if we get library now, there is no real need anymore for immediately settling the marble-city, which will cut down our city maintenance costs.

                          Save is here.

Nanas still lack Archery, so I say A

Thats 4 explicitly for A in the thread and 2 for B, I think someone mis-clicked when voting to make the poll 3-3.

Unless virtually every other semi-active member comes out of the woodwork and votes B this poll has reached quorum, unfortunately theirs no one to play the turn that we got late in the evening, Lets have a turn chat tomorrow morning making sure we do everything just right.
