I asked Snoopy what could / could not tell:

    Hello Snoopy,

We would like to contribute some text to Uno's Apolytonian about our 3 wonders, our religion and our great person.

Now, I don't know exactly what is considered common knowledge ? Could you please tell us what we can and cannot say ?

    Great Person
=> The fact a great person was born
=> The fact it was a great engineer
=> The fact it was Homeros
=> The fact he was born in team Alpha Centauri
All except the last is common knowledge. Teams without knowing you don't know who got the GE.

    Religion
=> The fact Judaism has been founded
=> The fact Judaism was founded by Alpha Centauri
=> The fact we'll call it Yangism
If you adopt the religion as your own, then all three are common knowledge.

    3 Wonders
=> The fact the 3 wonders were built by the same team
=> The fact that team was Alpha Centauri
=> The fact the 3 wonders were build in the same city
=> The fact that city is our capital
None of those pieces of information are common knowledge. Teams that do not know you will not see any of this. Unfortunately, "top 5" cities does not rely on wonders anymore IIRC, but only on culture, so that may be a bit off... but you can check next turn I suppose to see if it does happen

For the last point, I know this is not yet known for sure for the other teams, but they should have a very big clue due to our massive score. Also, it will be known the 3 wonders are built in the same city once we get back in the top-5 cities list. Maybe we already are, maybe not.

I guess if there's any information which should not reveal it was accomplished by AC, we can send it through you to UnO ?

    Thanks,

    PJay
I'd say you can talk about the first two things fine (with the one restriction above). The wonders you'll probably have to leave out unless/until they show up in top 5 cities (which they may soon ). I may suggest to UnO that he notice that several wonders were built in a flurry of amazing production or something like that

It makes quite a difference for writing something if our capital shows up in the top-5 list or not.

=> The fact it was Homeros
    IIRC he was named Imhotep..

At least Homeros is a name for GA

It makes quite a difference for writing something if our capital shows up in the top-5 list or not.
Let's wait a bit and see.
I think it should be there very soon as it's producing way more culture than any other city.

I think everyone knows anyway that we built the wonders and founded Judaism as no one else had a score jump in that turn (when Judaism was done).

      I didn't check in-game, and apparently snoopy didn't either

Well, if it doesn't enter the top5 at the end of next turn, we can't really delay longer. We'll have to be happy if the next turn arrives in a week. Vox/Banana is taking a very long turn time again.

Even the most basic score watching would show that we built all three wonders so I don't really see the big deal, do they really think the other teams are that dense?

We didn't show up in the top5 this turn yet, so what do we do about Apolytonian?

What could (and may) we contribute to Apolytonian then?
UnO says he plans to release it in 25th.

              some references:

(it seems appropriate for imhotep to insta-build the pyramids btw)

(for our religion, I'd rather make up some fiction about Yang, but we might have to delay that untill we actually switch)

Are we going to write anything or let uno do everything himself?

Honestly, with the (IMHO extreme) rules on talking about the game until everyone has met I can't see what we can write. We're not allowed to tell anyone it was us, so we can't put any flavor into the writing because it would tell everyone who got the GL, or who built the wonder.

Literally the only thing we can write about is that Imhotep was born. It's pointless.

                    Indeed.

Let's participate in the next installment then

Can we now contribute anything with everyone knowing that there's a city with 3 wonders in it?

ok, the things we can't talk about are that imhotep was our GP and he built the pyramids. And we can't talk about yangism.

We can talk about imhotep existing and about the 3 wonders we built and the name of the city they're all in.

                          So, what happened :

                          0900 BC :
                          ---------
                          Oracle built
                          Imhotep born

                          0875 BC :
                          ---------
Oracle => machinery researched (most expensive tech available to us, gets us our Unique Unit)
                          Imhotep => pyramids built
                          monotheism researched => judaism founded

                          0850 BC :
                          ---------
                          Colossus built

I assume the public forum will be opened, so there are no restrictions anymore from the game-admin. However, we probably don't want to say we've got machinery.

Ok, I have written a pretty long part of this. Please read, point out mistakes (english is not my mother language) and propose changes/additions.

I didn't do a text about Collossus yet, I hope somebody else will fill that in.

The 50 golden years of culture
                              ================================

During the years, which would normally be remembered as 900-850 BC,
in a land, known to some, home to few and unheard of for others,
                              something happened.

Ofcourse, it didn't happen in those turns alone. The things we will talk
about take a lot of preparation, dedication and luck. Although, in our
case it had nothing to do with luck.

                              The oracle
                              -----------
It all started out when one of scouts was hunting a lion. During the
pursuit, the lion tripped and fell into a crack in the earth. The lion was
not dead, and crawled out of it. However, he seemed to have forgotten he
was being hunted and started to immitate birds. The poor animal didn't
realise the lack of wings would prevent him to fly and while trying hard,
he would never whistle like a bird either. As this animal was clearly
possessed, our brave scout killed it, burried it and hunted an other lion
to bring home for dinner. The next days, two of his emotions were fighting
for control. Fear and curiosity. Ultimately, fear vanished and curiosity
took hold of him. He moved towards the crack, sented the weird smell and
took a nap. When he woke up, he went home and everything he did seemed
weird and like a deja-vu. As days went by, he went to that crack every
day, he told friends about and it quickly became a crowded place. Once
gone there, nobody could let a day pass without stopping by. A few weeks
later, somebody died. It was an old man, who would probably have died
also if he had been at home that day, but things weren't so clear at that
time. From that moment on, old men were not allowed anymore at the site.
It didn't take long for that order to change into old people and men. So,
only young girls were allowed the pleasures of being out of this world
                              for a while.

Now, we had a meeting place for young girls, so we needed to protect them.
That's why we started a massive project to guard them. When completed,
the girls were very very happy and during a celebration for the end of the
construcion, people were all very enlightened. We went home full of new
ideas about the next big thing. For most of us, the morning after was a
shock to learn we either had it all wrong, we re-invented something which
existed for long or something completely useless. As it later turned out,
eventually one person's idea was really worthwile and usefull. Due to this,
we decided to call our buiding "The Oracle".

Somebody also decided to imprison the most beautiful young girls in there.
We are still searching for somebody to blame for not mounting a rebellion
                              against this stupid law.

But, we are diverting from our course. It also turned out this oracle
became known to people we had never heard of. People from far away started
to visit us and the city name of Beijing travelled across the country.

                              Imhotep & his tomb
                              -------------------
While most of our people were occupied with building the oracle, some were
needed to teach them how to work efficiently, how to build a nice functional
temple, etc... As the years passed by, our leaders got better and better at
this. Eventually, one of them became much better than the others. His name
was Imhotep. Whenever he ordered someone to do something for the oracle,
the work was finished almost instantly. His name quickly became known and
the son-of-a-god status was given to him very soon. Once the oracle was
finished, he wanted to show how good he really was at building things.

He built us a completely useless "thing" in the dessert. What he did was
very impressive. Something 3 times as big, high, and heavy as the oracle
was built in almost no time. He called it a "Pyramid". Sadly though,
building it had taken so much of him, he didn't live much longer. While
it might have been perfectly clear to him, none of us knew what we could
do with that "pyramid",so we ended up using it as a tomb for his creator.
We all hope he's happy with that and we didn't anger him.

We're reasonably sure he's happy with that, as some time later we discovered
some new ways of keeping or people happy, just by pretending to have a
democratic government or pretending to fight against terrorism. Some also
report to have found a way to make people build things a lot faster by not
enslaving them to do so, but by rewarding them with gold for it. We have
not yet tried that last approach, and most are very sceptical about its
                              effectiveness.

Just like with the oracle, this pyramid became known to foreigners and
the name of Beijing spreaded out even further.

                              Yangism
                              --------------
Not everybody was very interested to work for Imhotep though. Some of our
people preferred to sit on the ground all day, looking at the sky. They
don't really harm anyone, so we don't bother them either. Suddenly though,
not long after the dead of Imhotep, a few of them came running towards the
city center. They were talking about seeing ghosts, about a far away sun,
called Alpha Centauri, about civilizations much more advanced than us,
about how the planet was ruled by just one man, Sheng-Ji Yang. While we
usually ignore those sky-watchers, this time they seemed to convince some
of our people they were telling the truth. As with all stories, details
which were left out initially, were filled in, and it turned out this
Yang person had chosen our tribe to become his representative on earth.
He will guide us and tell us what we need to know to establish world
domination here on earth, just like he did way up there. Some of our
brightest people argumented we might need more than his encouragement to
actually be able to dominate the earth, and we might even fail! However,
it seems the mighty Yang had an answer for this too. He'll guard a
dedicated place for us on his planet and should the earth-domination
not come as planned, he promised to pick us up and let us live happy and
                              forever next to him.

Well, that last argument was incounterable for all of us, and from that
day on, we all praise the mighty Yang. We still haven't heard any concrete
guidelines about how to dominate the earth, but we have faith! He will not
                              let us down!

                              Collossus
                              --------------
maybe somebody else can write something here, please?
                              ...

For the glory of the One Yang
